Off to Krakow. In just my first hour in Krakow I was lucky enough to run into a 20 year old Frenchman by the name of Olivier. He was working in another Polish town for the past 4 months talking to kids his age about the European Union (which Poland was admitted to just days ago in fact). But now he was in Krakow for a few days to show it to his mother who was visiting Poland for the first time from France. We wound up touring Krakow and Auschwitz more or less together and had quite a good time of it.
Here's what I was talking about with highly ornamental churches. This is the main church in Krakow, St. Margaret's. Packed to the brim!

And still another church.
Same church from a different angle...here you see the Polish eagle emblem as well.
And again the same church from still another angle.
Taking in a little of Krakow's old town.
And this would be still another church!
And alas, another!
A sampling of Polish names, Marta among them! 'W' is pronounced like our 'V', hence Weronika and Wiktoria...
Krakow has a beatiful and large rynek. This is one half of it, looking towards St. Margaret's church.
And the same half of the Rynek from a little further back.
