MHL-X2 Marshal Now that the MHL-X1 Marshal has served the forces of the Colonial Marshals and Taurian Defense Force for some time, some of its flaws have become apparent. The most notable of these is its lack of firepower. On several occasions, a Colonial Marshal has found himself or herself ambushed by a superior number of enemy mechs, and unable to rely on his/her mech's superior firepower, because his/her MHL-X1 does not *have* superior firepower. The MHL-X2, an extensive overhaul of the MHL-X1, attempts to solve this problem. Type: MHL-X2 Marshal Tech Base: I.S. This oversight was corrected with the MHL-X2. The replacement of the 18 single heat sinks with 10 double heat sinks allowed the designers to replace the standard large laser and LRM-5 with two PPCs, placed in the arms. In addition, the medium and medium pulse lasers were replaced with six medium lasers, spread around the torsos. Finally, a Beagle Active Probe was added to the RT, to help prevent lone Marshals from being ambushed, and to aid in the various peacetime activities of the Colonial Marshals, such as search-and-rescue. Capabilities: The new MHL-X2 Marshal has enormous firepower for a medium mech - indeed, the mech now has more effective firepower than the venerable Warhammer, manufactured in the Taurian Concordat for hundreds of years. The two PPCs in the arms give the mech long-range hitting power, and any opponent who attempts to close to the minimum range of the PPCs will be met with a barrage of six medium lasers. Due to the new double-strength heat sinks, the Marshal can afford to effectively use its weapons. Deployment: The MHL-X2 Marshal will be deployed to new Colonial Marshals in complete form, and upgrade kits will be distributed to users of the original MHL-X1 Marshal.
