Overview: In the late 3050s, Taurus Territorial Industries found itself losing its so-called "arms race" with competing Taurian arms manufacturers. TTI's facility on Taurus was verging on obsolescence, with Vandenberg Mechanized Industries and Pinard Protectorates Ltd. producing upgraded versions of the Warhammer[1] and Marauder[2] battlemechs. TTI executives realized that this facility must undergo some capital improvements or its entire market share would vanish. In June 3061, the first WHM-2C-TC Warhammer walked off the assembly lines and into history. Capabilities: The WHM-2C-TC Warhammer was greatly influenced by battle reports of the clan Warhammer IIC, donated by the Taurian Concordat's new Capellan friends. Like the Warhammer IIC, the WHM-2C-TC replaces its PPCs with the extended-range variety and its secondary weapons with five medium-class lasers. The armor was upgraded to ferro-fibrous and two tons were added, significantly improving what many considered to be the original Warhammer's only flaw. The WHM-2C-TC differs from its clan counterpart in several significant ways, however. First, the mass was kept at 70 tons. Second, jump jets were added; it is thought that the additional maneuverability would compensate for the overall lack of size. Third, TTI engineers decided to use standard medium lasers, rather than the pulse variety, for supply reasons. The WHM-2C-TC Warhammer contrasts with Vandenberg Mechanized Industries' WHM-7R Warhammer[1] in several key ways. The TTI version keeps the standard engine in order to reduce the cost and increase Battle History: Since the WHM-2C-TC Warhammer is so new, it has not yet seen combat.
