this is a lucid and basic book definitly for java beginners but NOT for programming beginners recommended for all with some programming experience

It's a beginners book but just not enough variation with what you can do with anything! The problems from my lecturer are so wide they leave this book wanting

Yes, this book offers a vast amount of superflous information, but beyond that, it is among the best resources I've come across, second only to maybe Lewis Loftus & Cocking's book.

This is definately not a book for beginning programmers. Maybe good for advanced programmers, though I wouldn't know because the book is so advanced that I can't get through the beginner's section. No good explanation of classes, objects, events, or any of the key java concepts. Not much good source code to use as examples. The book sort of throws you into a java jungle (fitting for the cover).

This is my first course in Object oriented programming. This book is not user friendly. It is not a good beginner's book.
