Overview

This CD-ROM contains Dr. Nooteboom's complete revision of the fern family Davalliaceae, based on his recent series of publications. This family of mostly epiphytic/epilithic (sub-)tropical ferns is distributed from Korea in the north to eastern Australia and Three Kings Island in the south, and from the Canary Islands in the west to the Marquesas in the Pacific. One focus is on the delimitation of the genera as well as on the full description of the 43 species and 5 varieties, all taxa with full synonymy and illustrations. For species identification the program offers an illustrated dichotomous text key, and a new matrix-based multiple-entry key. The Introduction, the illustrated Glossary and the References modules contain important additional information.
