Overview

MPEP-7, a new standard for description and search of audio and visual content, is about to enable a new generation of products and services. This book introduces MPEG-7 as it applies to multimedia database management systems and multimedia servers. It is based on a review of relevant literature, assessment of ongoing projects, and discussions with researchers in the field.
