Great book to begin to learn the fundamentals of Java programming. It has lots of review questions, practice exercises so that you can gauge if you are getting the key concepts.

I used it as a primary textbook in a class that I am taking and I think it is ideal for such a setting - might be hard to use if you are studying the topic entirely on your own without any previous experience.

This was probably a really good textbook from the little I read of it, but I ended up not needing it for the class.
