Oracle has now introduced a new certification named Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE7 Programmer, which is mandatory if you want to become Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE7 Programmer (given to understand that you already are not OCP in some other version of Java). So, Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE7 Programmer (OCA7) is really important exam for a Java developer who wants to get certified and valued.

Este es un buen libro introductorio para la certificación, pero para mi gusto, es demasiado simple. Le falta profundidad y sobre todo mas ejercicios. Creo que es mejor revisar los clásicos de certificación para java 6, y leer un libro de las novedades del java 7.

I have yet to take the OCA exam, but assuming the material in this book covers the test, it was worth the money. It definitely is very basic and simple for anyone that has done any java development in their career. Some parts do not really apply in a professional development environment. That is not the point of this book obviously. I found it to be an easy read.
Nicely written summed up objectives for this certification. Of course these are Java basics.
