This book should not have the number 8 on it's front cover.
Sure, it has 2 chapters dealing with the new features introduced in Java 8 (covering lambdas, streams and very (very) briefly dates) - But the rest of the book does not use these new features... He still uses anonymous classes with one function instead of Lambdas! He also uses Vector in one example, where it actually is indistinguishable from List in this particular case (since he uses synchronized on the function using it, and the only ...more
