This book is good for those new to next generation databases that are more applicable to big data, social network, IoT, cloud etc applications. It is a very brief book and covers only a high level of some common database approaches. The only interesting thing for me was the chapter on replications. A lot of common sense without enough depth.
Introductory, more of a story and overview of the database landscape and capabilities. Highlights some core concepts everyone should be aware of. Nothing new under the sun.
Very good survey of database technologies, trends, and future outlook for someone new to the subject area.
