To be read before the big one: "JavaScript, The Definitive Guide"
Good, but out of date
Another excellent O'Reilly pocket reference. I use this all the time. Own both the 1st and 2nd edition. Only regret is that the 2nd ed lack a couple of the diagrams contained in the first edition.
Good succinct reference book. Nice, clear explanation even on advanced topics like closures, inheritance and nested functions/objects. Worth reading even if one is familiar with JavaScript.
