Trespasser is one of the best DLCs in recent memory. It could be argued that Trespasser should have been a part of the original game since it wraps up Dragon Age: Inquisition so cleanly, but it does resonate as a distinct epilogue and holds up to the test of what should count as extra content.

Nevertheless for this Dragon Age fan Trespasser was a hugely satisfying end to Inquisition, and the final choice alone will have huge ramifications. Roll on Dragon Age 4.

Trespasser goes a long way to prove that Bioware really does listen to what fans have to say without feeling like it’s pandering.

BioWare says its goodbyes in style. With their last DLC, Trespasser, they put all your favorite characters in the spotlight and they make us long for a new game sooner rather than later.

A worthy end to Dragon Age: Inquisition. A lengthy quest with a satisfying pay-off makes up for some unimaginative encounters.

Dragon Age: Inquisition’s tale comes to a close not with a bang, not with a whimper, but with some satisfying closure and challenging combat met with allies that’ve become close friends.

The story is satisfying, refers to choices made in Inquisition, adds a lot to the lore and wraps up some loose ends. [12/2015, p.57]

It contained lots of action, tons of lore, a simple and yet fun get-together with your companions and love interest. Choices also DO MATTER. A lot, and they affect EVERYONE as the ending epilogue has many different scenarios.

Of course, as it happened in the Witch Hunt... you get to have questions answered.

In the end, it perfectly sets up the stage for the next Dragon Age game while leaving you with plenty of emotions regarding the past, present and future of DA universe.

why 9? because great is normal for bioware, and the only reason it feels like a 10 is because we've been used to bioware transitioning into gameplay/loot focused mmorpgry (decent) or general lazy writing. (unconsitantly great and meh). trespasser is very well told and directed. may bioware make their next game bioware level with bioware attitude. hf. also, protip, do not read spoiler.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I enjoyed this dlc. Mostly because of the chance to marry Cullen, that was so sweet! It was nice to have a wedding, it was nice to see all the old companions and catch up with their news! I'm glad I also got to see Solas again as I became very fond of him from playing the main game so many times.

I'm pleased the developers gave us way to choose our armour/clothing styles and continue to craft stuff from the area but I did miss having access to the mirror of transformation. (But that's a small gripe) The armour we get during this dlc is quite nice too, prettier than the Hakkon and Descent armours. I would like the option to drop those ghastly metal shoulder pads though ;)

All in all a nice conclusion to DAI and a wonderful addition to my games library. I'm very content my inquisitor can now go off and live happily ever after with Cullen.

Trespasser brings Dragon Age back to its roots, namely a focus on the protagonist's relationship with other characters, interesting environments, and especially meaningful decision-making. The first is meaningful (and often amusing) interactions with your party, and the second is a storyline that's not tangential and boring. In fact the content in Trespasser feels so essential to Dragon Age's overaching plot that I wonder why it wasn't part of the main game in the first place. Either way, Trespasser is full of revelations and provides a worthy epilogue to the game.

Where the DLC falters are it's enemy encounters. The game is unrelenting in how many Qunari you have to kill and combat quickly becomes a tedious affair. While there is a new Inquisitor ability, it does little to relieve the monotony of hitting damage sponge enemies over and over again. And of course, Bioware decided to include a dragon for the sake of it. The best parts of Trespasser are the non-combat sequences, though even these aren't perfect. Some character interactions can feel overly dramatic and saccharine, though these were more the exception than the norm.
