On the whole, its a good game that will keep RTS fans happy whilst at the same time brings enough RPG elements to keep things fresh and interesting.
-
Rich in graphical details, and sporting a classic player interface, Dragon Throne is a solid addition to the lineup of strategy games.
-
A cursory glance at Dragon Throne often urges people to write it off as an "Age of Empires" clone. However, it is a sophisticated RTS title and handles its many layers much better than comparable RTS titles.
-
It's just not very distinctive.

-
The graphics are very dated, and aside from some of the complications and innovations it has a pretty old school RTS feel.
-
Computer Gaming WorldThe maps look boring, the units have few and bland animations, the sounds are awful, and someone seems to have forgotten combat effects. [July 2002, p.69]
