It requires tactical planning and a liberal amount of brute force to escape to safety. Each of the eight squad members possesses distinctive skills and weaponry that the player has to use wisely to progress through the game's story driven objectives. Raven Squad sets itself apart by allowing players to switch freely between real-time strategy and first-person shooter gameplay. Only by mastering both of these modes of play, and becoming adept at switching between the two, can players make it out of the jungle alive. [SouthPeak Games] Expand

  1. A mix of genres, especially FPS and RTS, is always a difficult thing, but in this case the developers did a good job!
  2. It's quite short. The credits were rolling after less than seven hours. The weak presentation is just as annoying as the question why the game deprives the player of lots of exciting situations. There are better games of the genre like Rainbow Six: Vegas.
  3. It’s not a game that you should spend your money on quite yet. Maybe, after the passage of time, when you can find it cheap or even for free, it will be worth a cursory glance. For the moment however, it’s best to skip this one out.

The worst part is the voice acting. [Dec 2009, p.77]
  5. Raven Squad is bland, boring and definitely not fun. Avoid it at all cost.
  6. Raven Squad is 90 percent first-person shooter, 10 percent strategy game, and 100 percent bad.

Don’t play this game. The idea of blending a first-person shooter with a real-time strategy game isn’t a bad one, but the execution was a complete failure. I’ll look back fondly at my time reviewing Raven Squad -- all three hours of it -- but only because I couldn’t stop laughing at the fact that this game exists.

I played this game for about 10 minutes and then i erased it without having any doubts that it's the worst 2009 game. The graphics I played this game for about 10 minutes and then i erased it without having any doubts that it's the worst 2009 game. The graphics don't look bad, but the voice acting and gameplay, plus the behavior of the enemy and characters make this game an "avoid game". Too bad it could have been a unique experience. Expand
