  1. A very enjoyable game with an intriguing storyline, a captivating environment, and engrossing gameplay.
  2. The game has plenty of swearing, and lots of gore. I like running around nearly dead--you leave a big trail of red wherever you go. Ok, so maybe it is over the top, but at least somebody still has some cajones out there.

For serious gamers who want a long squad-based game -- it's challenging, it has hours of gameplay, the Fallout universe is faithfully recreated and the production values are top-notch. It's not a game for everyone, though; the difficulty and squad-based strategy will turn some gamers off.
  4. It will push you to be a better gamer, but once complete it has little replay value.
  5. An innovative game with a long single player campaign filled with loads of detail and fun gameplay.
  6. Contains all the best elements of its predecessors, and introduces novelties that will make it popular today.
  7. Many strategy fans will appreciate the depth and Fallout groupies will love the continuity, but some things like control in CTB mode or the pace in the classic style may drop bombs in the wrong places.

Fallout Tactics is a great game. Anyone who says this doesn't deserve the name "Fallout" hasn't played Fallout. The story is great,Fallout Tactics is a great game. Anyone who says this doesn't deserve the name "Fallout" hasn't played Fallout. The story is great, entertaining, and engaging, and straight out of the Fallout fiction. While the RPG elements of the previous two Fallout installments are mostly absent, Fallout Tactics gives you complete control of each member of your party down to the clothes they wear, the guns they carry, and exactly what they do. As you travel the wastes, you can pick up additional team members and types, making the customizability of this game and replayability immense. I have played and replayed this game multiple times, as the graphics and gameplay have stood up over the years quite well. My only complaint is the linearity of the storyline, but even then you can just go wander the wastelands if you feel like it, which is fun in itself (albeit dangerous). I wish I could find a game as well put together as Fallout Tactics these days. Expand

Then about a year ago I decided to pick up the triple pack (Fallout 1, 2, and this one. At first, I didn't quite understand this game. It was confusing, felt a little weird and such. I got a few missions in and I have to say that it isn't all that bad. I was astonished by the graphics of the cutscenes. A little disappointing in the linear gameplay.
Though if the original 2 games had combat like this, it would be nearly perfect.
    I say around a 7 or 7.5 out of 10.

So that skill is absolutely necessary here not mention other skills which seem to be useless. Its totally linear game there is no free exploring on map so this map could be even removed as its FAKE (you cant discover ANYTHING beside special encounters) For that am give zero. In real strategy you should have every locations available or at least parts of it accessible, visible on map. And you should be commander who lead and plan some strategy make decisions. This would be tactic. Where what you get is linear shooter with Fallout style graphic. Its NOT Fallout just because it have similar gfx and stats system. Without freedom of exploring and entire adventure part that is pointless. They should at least make some poor dialogs and poor quests so it would be modified by fans into Fallout 3 Am played Awaken mod and it almost works as adventure game so cant understand why they cut off best parts and give that shooter. Ok it look good and may keep you busy for while but reality is that they broke game and its bit pointless now. Somehow am enjoyed even that broken game so what would be with all this missing stuff? Definitely epic 10/10 game, but this is zero because am feel its broken. Expand
