a game overlooked when it was published years ago... I RECOMMEND IT GUYS! REALLY A GAME WORTH TRYING, REALLY A CLASSIC ALL TO ENJOY, FULL OF ACTION AND LOTS OF WEAPONS AVAILABLE ESPECIALLY!!!

Shadow Warrior is a stupid ridiculous game but it's actually really fun if you just sort of accept it for what it is, goofy offensiveness and all. It's sort of like unopinionated South Park episodes.

The Build engine is really, really amazing, and the work that's gone into upgrading the game for the Redux version is astonishing. Probably still not worth ten dollars in this day and age(unless ten dollars isn't much to you), but if you can get it dirt cheap, go for it.

Shadow Warrior is one of the must-play retro FPS classics.

The gameplay is very similar to Duke Nukem 3D, but with different weaponry and enemies. All the guns feel solid and killing the Zilla warriors is satisfying.

Though functional, the controls in the original game are a bit outdated, but Shadow Warrior Classic Redux has made it more suited for the modern standard while also allowing customization of keyboard and mouse controls, so everything can be made to feel natural to the player.

SWC Redux also comes with the two expansion packs, Wanton Destruction and Twin Dragon, that roughly double the amount of playable levels.

Unfortunately, SWC Redux suffers from a few stability issues, resulting in occasional crashes. For example, quickloading seems to crash the game every single time (for me, at least), but you can simply use the Load Game menu hotkey instead. If the crash occurred in one of the expansion packs, the error reporter will incorrectly relaunch the regular executable instead of the expansion executable.

Another issue is that the game tends to stutter a lot if Vertical Sync is enabled and have very visible screen tearing with VSync off, which is pretty weak, as it can affect your experience noticeably.

TL;DR: From what I've seen, SWC Redux the best version of the original Shadow Warrior out there. If you liked Duke Nukem 3D, you're sure to like this game as well. I would say this game is well worth the money.

- It does crash when you quick load sometimes.
- Corruption of graphics and sound as you play.
- A lot of back tracking for keys you might have missed from the chaotic battles.
- Not a lot of opportunities to use special weapons, except on bosses where they're only practical. Just heart and nuke away to win
- No multiplayer in this version.

Charmingly racist. Like your grandma. To be serious though, so far it plays like an even more absurd Duke Nukem. That is a good thing.

Just as insane and cliche-driven as Duke Nukem, but with a more exotic setting and leading character, Shadow Warrior Classic Redux is a great shooter that's been perfectly redone for newer computers with tons of beautiful levels and funny one-liners that will keep you hooked.
