Waking up in a strange hospital, you're confronted to the Seven Demons of Sins. Guided by an angel, it's up to you to save Sacra Terra from damnation.

The plot is really interesting: you're in a dark ambiance, yet, the presence of Angel is the light of the game. The fact that you have to find a way to free the souls that were taken by the Sins is a nice challenge.

It is also a nice challenge to find your way around, because the map can't be used for fast travel - which can be annoying at the end of the game. The HO scenes are easy as are the puzzles.

The graphics are beautiful, when you see the demons's appearance, they're very detailed - you're even kinda attached to them (at least for the firsts you're encountering). The soundtrack is also good.

The game is neat, the only bug I encountered is in the bonus chapter, well, it wasn't breaking the game as the reset button was working but I skipped the game as I got stuck twice.

While there is no achievement, there are trading cards. Achievements would have been nice, as you have to find beyond objects that will unlock all the videos of the game in the main menu.

Sacra Terra is a good game, that many of casual gamers will enjoy. Go for it, for the price, you're not robbed at all.

Very easy, medium length, casual Hidden Object game.

Story is interesting and well spread throughout the game. The graphics and sound fit and are ageing well. While it is a little dark and grim in places, it's more light spook than horror.
The Hidden Object puzzles are nicely presented scenes, lots to find, not glitchy - there is a little repetition.
Nearly all the logic puzzles have the answer provided in clues found nearby and all are easy.
There is a map - sadly no teleport, the areas are close together so backtracking is not too bad.

This is a very easy game suitable for crayon-eaters.

Short version: 66%
Sacra Terra is recommended for those hidden object game players who want a longer game for their money with higher average difficulty. Not recommended for those who are prone to get bored when nothing is happening in their games.

Long version:
Sacra Terra: Angelic Night doesn’t seem bad at first– it’s a quite large hidden object game with over 40 screens (and another 12 in the bonus chapter) of good-looking and detailed art. The hidden object scenes are sometimes a little cheap with item placement, but they also provide a level of difficulty and enjoyment that is rare in today’s HOGs.

Even the story starts great and gets you interested: the unnamed male(!) protagonist wakes up on a hospital bed to find the entire town deserted, only to run into an angel shortly afterwards to learn that he needs to confront the demons of the seven sins.
Sadly, in practise, this means a lot of running back and forth (there is no map) between the starting area and all other places with little to no plot to carry the monotonous tasks. The puzzles make sure we never fall asleep, but this is pretty much as far as the entertainment value goes.

Good atmosphere and soundtrack, but overly padded, returning you to the same hidden object scenes over and over until they become dull and unchallenging.

I played this game years ago on my Ipad but it is still a pretty good game for the price. The story is good but the graphics a bit outdated for modern widescreen PC's. However two major downfalls;

* No travel map
* No achievements

If you can get it for cheap then it's a pretty good HOG.

Game Series

"Angelic Nights" is the first installment of "Sacra Terra" game series.

Game Visual/Audio

There isn't much can be said about the game's visuals asides from that they're nicely done. Pretty much the same thing can be said about the game's audio. The visual and audio can be adjusted in the game's option menu.

Gameplay

There are two different game difficulty modes to choose from: Casual and Expert.

The notebook has two sections: Map and Journal.

The journal keep tracks of all story events and clues in the game.

There are interactive items in the game, they're marked with a symbol, but sometimes these interactive items do require extra items before they can be interact with.

There's a map in the game but it can be only accessed through the notebook. There's no fast travel in this game at all. But it does shows the individual's current position and tasks that can be done at certain location.

Most of the hidden object scenes consists of traditional word list and shadow items. Some of them do require little or no interaction.

Most of the game's puzzles are rather easy to solve without much difficulty. For most of these puzzles there's a reset button. However, there's definitely a skip button, for all of the puzzles. These two features are only present in "Casual" game difficulty mode.

There are collectibles, they are called beyond objects, but otherwise known as morphing objects. There are forty-two beyond objects scattered throughout the game.

Since this is a collector's edition game, there's a bonus chapter, but it can be unlocked only after the main story of the game's completed. The bonus chapter is the pre-sequel to the main story.

Miscellaneous

In the extra section there's some bonus contents: thirteen concept art, a built-in walkthrough, and wallpapers.

There are total of six different trading cards. You only get the three of those cards from the game. There are several ways to get the rest of the trading card: Purchased from Steam’s Market; Trade with friends; Booster Packs and it’s Booster Pack Creator. Badge can be crafted and upgraded with these trading cards. This feature is only available for Steam’s version of this game.

Final thoughts, I definitely enjoying playing this game all the way through to the end. However, there's one thing that would make traveling less tedious is having an map that fast travel ability. As for the replay value I would say it's low. I would recommend this game but not at the full price.

Hello Folks,

Sacra Terra: Angelic Night is a Hidden Object Game in the best Tradition of the Artifex Mundi Games.
After a good and dark introduction movie you wake up in a strange room and have to find out what happens to you. So you begin your search to find out that something terrible has happened and you, yes YOU are the only hope to put things right.

I`m not ready with the game but i really enjoy it. It is a thrilling story combined with some atmospheric movie scenes that drives the story on. You want to know what happens and how you can stop it. Also the mysterious angel that comes from time to time to you.

The pictures are very good and the music fits very well into the game. The Hidden Objects parts are also good and i didn`t have any problems with them. Also there is some nice concept art and a good Guide to help you through the game.

I clearly can recommend this game IF you like Hidden Object Games, IF you like dark atmosphere, IF you like Artifex Mundi Games. If not, thats not for you. :)

But now i have one ccriticism point, dear developer. I´m missing achievements like in Artifex Mundi games. Without them i´m sure after reaching the end, thats it for me. With them it will motivate to play it again. What do you think?
Thanks for getting this one to steam.

Greetings
Wyvern

Atmospheric hidden object game with a few easy puzzles thrown in. Built in strategy guide and hint system. Marred by uneven pacing, slightly padded out.
8/10

Pros:
+ Good, mildly creepy horror atmosphere supported by the music, cutscenes and visuals
+ Entertaining storyline
+ Built-in strategy guide and hint system if you get stuck
+ Some hidden objects are really well hidden

Cons:
- Uneven pacing. The end section was over really quickly with no kind of final challenge or tough puzzle.
- Some of the hidden objects don't look like their description, other hidden objects are really small and were not fun to pixel hunt for.
- The game forces you to return to the same hidden object scenes again for no reason other than to pad the game out (and presumably to save resources during development of the game)

Hidden Object Game about an isolated hospital and a patient (male!) fighting a demon horde. The graphics are nice, the HO scenes are a bit boring with the same scenes used over and over. A bonus chapter unlockable finishing the main story explains some backstory. The backtracking is very annoying since the map can't be used to teleport but is there only for reference. The game is nothing special, good enough if you're a beginner but there are better ones on Steam.

The Good:
  • vast amount of cleverly designed point&click puzzles
  • appealing visuals
  • interesting story elements

The Meh:
  • there's a central location in the game that you are required to repeatedly go back to in order to "exchange" runic coins for important items; this trek back & forth gets more and more annoying the more locations you unlock
  • the music is rather bland and it doesn't take long for the short and constantly looping tracks to become somewhat grating

The Ugly:
  • nothing; I didn't experience any major issues, neither technical, nor otherwise

Overall:
Sacra Terra: Angelic Night was a very pleasant surprise for me. The generic title had me prepared for a mediocre experience, but it actually turned out to be one of the more entertaining Hidden Object games I've played. This may be because I usually enjoy the point&click aspect more than the actual Hidden Object screens, and this is exactly where Sacra Terra shines. The locations are fun to sift through for useful items, the actual item combination puzzles are consistently well-designed and mostly perfectly logical, and the sheer volume of them is quite impressive too. I also ended up enjoying the story quite a bit. The main character is meant to banish seven demons that have taken the form of the Seven Deadly Sins, and he does so pretty creatively (the "Lust Demon" is banished by summoning a succubus who drags him to hell, for example). It is all this and the general polish of the game that make Sacra Terra: Angelic Night stand out as a highlight of the genre.

Puzzles: 3/5 – Not super unique or hard, but not bad. Perhaps I'm a bit too picky on the puzzles...

HOGs 4/5- Some very excellent areas, I actually had to spend some time to find things instead of finding everything in a couple minutes.

Story: 4/5 – Good for a casual game, 7 deadly sins are always fun. I actually cared what happened in the story rather than just searching for the next puzzle. I did feel like the end was a bit rushed.

Graphics: 4/5- Very nice drawings and areas, unique as well and not just copies of each other. (Also I love the torture devices they add for the wrath area).

I liked this HOG, in general. It has a decent length, and it's not particularly hard.

GOOD:
The graphics are pretty nice, as are the cutscenes, the music, and the design of the demons. The story is alright. The game includes two difficulty levels, and hints (in case you get stuck, but they're not needed). There's also extra collectible hidden objects on the point-and-click parts that you can look for if you want to (they're not required, and don't go into your inventory).

MEH:
You're not particularly threatened by the demons you're fighting. The reason for that is explained in-game, though.

BAD:
* There's a map (which helps quite a bit, as it tells you where there's available actions), but it has no fast travel. Getting from one place to another doesn't take that long, but there's not much reason to make you click your way through the screens, even if they look nice.
* There's no voice acting - I guess it's not mandatory, but it'd make the game more immersive, if it was done well.
* There's a place where you take certain token items and you magically (in the literal sense) get them traded for other items that you need. This feels a bit too cheap, and is overused.
* Sometimes the protagonist already knows something before looking at some particular item. His logic is sometimes weird, too: "I have to fight this demon... let's summon this other demon! I'm sure they'll defeat each other, and I won't get an even worse problem!" And it does work, but that's besides the point.

DEPENDS ON PERSONAL PREFERENCES:
* The game isn't particularly hard. You can usually tell where to use each item on the point-and-click parts, and maybe you'll get stuck for a couple of minutes looking for the last object of a HO scene, but you can use hints if you want to avoid that. Puzzles tend to be easy, too.
* You'll revisit each HO scene several times, looking for different items. Some people will get annoyed by that, but I liked it, as it makes each scene super-crowded, and you don't just click an item that seems out of place.
* Many items will be repeated on each HO scene, which makes it a bit harder ("Oh, I need a hammer now, I think I remember where I saw that! Wait, did I see it on this scene, or the previous one?"). They don't reuse images for different scenes, though. Also, even if it's the same name of the item, the actual item may be different: a "hammer" could be a small hammer, or a really big one, or a drawing of a hammer, or a photo, or... MC Hammer? (Last one isn't an actual example, but the alarm on my watch went off and it was hammer o'clock.)

Tried to control myself from buying those pointless 'point n click' hidden object games but somehow caved in and bought it when it was on sale.

Played this with my children and they absolutely loved this genre and found the story quite interesting!

Did not regret buying this and it prompted me to buy other similar games.

Sacra Terra: Angelic Night is a HOG that sticks to the tried and tested supernatural theme that the genre is addicted to. You wake up in a hospital bed to find the complex you are in has been taken over by demons based on the seven deadly sins, and with the help of the murdered daughter of the administrator who now just happens to be an angel, you have to defeat the demons one by one.

The Good.
The story is pretty strong and keeps you interested.
The cutscenes are excellent, and there are lots of them.
The visual style and graphics are high definition and amongst the best for the genre.
The soundtrack and audio are perfect and don't distract.
There's a bonus chapter (although it doesn't add much to the story and feels tacked on)
The bonus chapter is 90% new locations, HO scenes and puzzles. Only the first two rooms are reused.
The game is very cheap and has trading cards.
The map is detailed and there are a lot of locations to visit.
It's not too short or too long.

The Bad.
There's no fast travel. The map will tell you where there are actions that need to be completed, but you need to manually travel there .. and that can mean traveling through up to eight scenes, and then having to travel back.
The story is very good, but a lot of the details aren't revealed through the gameplay, as they only appear in your journal. For example, at the very end of the game, I killed the final demon with an object, but didn't know why that object was fatal to them, checking the journal explained why.
The puzzles are on the easy side.
There are a lot of HO scenes (bordering on too many) and a lot of those scenes are reused multiple times. I really don't like when I'm close to completing a task or puzzle and then the last object or piece magically shows up in a HO scene that has appeared in a location you have been though multiple times, and this game does it a lot.

Overall, I think this is a very strong HOG. It's nothing you haven't seen before, but it does it well. Considering the price, I have no hesitation in recommending it for the four or more hours it will take to complete.

Good music; good art; compelling storyline; logical puzzles - I enjoyed this very much. The hidden objects challenging without being frustrating, and at each stage, I was eager to find out what happened next. This game avoided the often-creepy side of horror mental hospital settings; the focus was on the angel/demon storyline rather than gore or psychological trauma. (There are bits of both, but they're background details.)

However, the negative reviews all have valid points - there's no instant map travel, and many of the hidden object zones are repeated. I like that; I get more practice with what I didn't notice the first time, and I like the plot aspects of "oh, and last time you passed this cluttered corner, you failed to notice the screwdriver; this time, you'll pick that up." But those who find that frustrating are not going to like this game; some scenes are used three times.

The pacing was a bit off - it started slow, and picked up and never slowed down, so the ending felt a bit rushed. But in my mind, the story was worth that, and the magic activation scenes (runes starting to glow, light filling a diagram, etc.) were lovely - flashy enough to be interesting, and quick enough that they didn't feel like a delay.

I'd give this a rating of 7 out of 10: if it hits your buttons, it's awesome; if any of its flaws are big red flags for you, the awesome parts probably won't make up for that; if neither of those is true, it's probably an enjoyable game, but not one that's likely to become a favorite.

Good search and find type game the only problem I have found is that as dark as it is some people would have a hard time find certain hidden objects.
