Very realistic driving game. This game is not like NFS which the car can shift for kilometers, in this game the controls are close to be real and it gives you the realistic difficult immersion in a rally race.
The graphics is fantastic, a lot of models and particles, high definition textures and effects, and a lot of animation effect which makes the game way too cool. I made a right decision to buy this game

This has been one of the best racing games that I've played.

Pros -
A real challenge if you're playing with no assists. (Trail Blazer events are pretty hard with no assists)
Still looks nice for an old game
Lots of cars, tracks, and events
AI seems to be good enough
Native 21:9 monitor support (according to /r/ultrawidemasterrace Group)
Monte Carlo!

Cons -
Physics is sometimes not realistic. I could do a '360 no scope FTW' and still win a race without assists
AI Opponents are somehow 'heavier' than you are sometimes
Cars are identical (with teams being different, a same model car will have same stats accross teams)
...GYMKHANA! (I liked it at first, but it gets so annoying if you want a platinum in all stunt events)

The cons are pretty minor except for Gymkhana, because they made it impossible to progress without completing the Gymkhana tutorial stage.

This would be like an 8.5/10 for me.

Looking forward to playing Dirt Rally!

I'm not a big fan of racing games but here we've got visuals, lots of cars and challenges for any type of gamer, from the casual ones to the genre enthusiasts. Races are varied enough and one can find interest in Gymkhana too, even if tricks aren't your main go. Highlighted for the gameplay-wise.

+new menu system
+details are awesome
+controls are responsive
+good optimization
+wide variety of cars
+soundtrack/sound of the engine of each car model
-during a replay, you can notice how the graphics are smooth, with few details at a lower speed; this is aside from the reflection of the fully polygonal environment as reflected in the vehicle.
-during a rain, the car did not receive a single drop of water; the impression is that the vehicle has an extensive cover that leaves not penetrate the water. And in the case of a rally game where normally the dust (or snow) influence the pilot's view, in the game these elements do not come into contact with cars, leaving them completely clean for much of the race; only at the end of the race you can notice a "little dirt" in the car.

However, DiRT 3 takes that essence of competition, distils it and rubs it liberally into your console's aging circuitry, lighting it up with new excitement and adrenaline. Offline is as exciting as online racing - it's really good.

DiRT 3, totally recommended for racing game lovers.

So after 115hours I have all achievments done and I can say it has been one hell of a journey, this game is part of my "childhood" and it didnt disappointed me even after 6 years from day it was published , with active multiplayer lobbys , still great graphics , "arcade" physics that have nice feel on joystick. I totally recommend this game to "car guys" or just anybody that likes fun (sometimes challenging) racing games.

*First Impressions*

Okay, so in my hour or so of playing this game so far, I didn't know whether I'd enjoy it or not because I'm not that big of a fan of races or racing but so far I've enjoyed it, sure it has some things that are off like the random lag I've gotten on some courses (especially Smelter) and I'm pretty sure that's not my fault and it's a good challenging game, it's also quite fun for a casual game if you just want a casual race, I also enjoy the soundtrack so that's a bonus.

here's my pros and cons list so far:

Pros:
- Fun.
- Nice soundtrack.
- The interface is good imo.
- Controls feel nice.

Cons:
- Weird Keyboard settings to start with (I suggest changing them, especially to the WASD setup).
- Random Lag Spikes.
- Steam Badges (this is just me but I wish they would've made better looking badges and backgrounds because in my opinion they just look a bit crappy).
- Impossible to play on anything higher than Casual setting unless you have a Controller or even a wheel (again, this could be just me but I prefer playing on Medium difficulties for that slight extra challenge and I couldn't get above last without using at least a controller).

all in all, I like this game so far, as someone who doesn't really like racing in general, that's a bonus, I recommend you playing it, whoever you may be.

Good graphics and car hangling can be customised really well. The maps gets repetitive after a while. By tour 2 they are already repeating some of the maps. Also the gymkhana challenges gets irritating. For instance there are tours dedicated to rally, rallycross, land rush etc. that is just supposed to have races for the corresponding type like rally in it. Than right at the the end of that tour there is a gymkhana challenge. That does not make sense. They should have grouped the gymkhana stuff for a tour on it's own. Other than that the game is really enjoyable. Lots of cars to choose from and handling is great if you put it on hard. Overall, it’s a really great game.

First season is okay, second season it gets boring and everything after that feels like a chore. If you like racing games that focus on A to B sprints, parking lot drift/donut challenges and don't mind running the same snow covered tracks then it's for you. If you want a racing game with depth and realism then skip this and get Forza or Gran Turismo.

This is such a great game.
It's very fast paced and extremely fun to play. It has more of an arcade feel while still keeping a few realistic aspects to the handling. I think there is a great balance in control here. The stages are a bit too short for my liking. Most take less than 3 minutes to complete, and that for me is a bummer. But this isn't a one and done game, it's always fun to go back to stages I've already done and try to drive more efficiently and faster to get a better time.
There is a serious sense of speed and the replays are epic. This game has the best replay cameras I have ever seen.
The pace notes are well done and keep improving in naturality with every DiRT release.
The graphics are well done and objects go flying or move in a believable manner when you run into them.
I did notice on the first career stage that there were people in the middle of the road and ran out of the way as I approached, and that was so cool. But I have never seen that again after the first stage. The fans are a huge part of rally and that is a typical thing to see during a stage, but unfortunately that was the only time I ever saw that happen in this game. What a tease.
The crashes are epic, this game has some seriously awesome action if you take that corner too sharp and go flipping to who knows where.
And then there's Gymkhana. In real life Gymkhana is the craziest and coolest driving I have ever seen. But in DiRT, I don't care for it. I want rally stages, hillclimbs, rallycross, and crossover. Not Gymkhana. Gymkhana and drifting stages seem to be the portions of the game I don't care for. They become a nuisance rather than something I look forward to playing. I end up turning the difficulty all the way down just so I can finish them real quick and get back to rally. But given the handling in DiRT 3, you can really pull off some crazy moves during these events after a bit of practice.
I recommend this game to everyone. It's a must have.

DiRT 3 has been on my list for a very long time. I finally gave in a few days ago and got the game.

To my dismay after about 1,5 hours of playing and completing the first season I entered season 2 and the game started stuttering. No FPS lag or anything no high CPU usage just stuttering. After googling around it seemed more people were having this issue so after an hour and a half or so of playing I've asked for my steam refund.

Without the stuttering it'd probably be an amazing game and you may not be affected by it , but I was unfortunately so personally I'd not recommend it.
