Remove the multiplayer tag if there is no online, local is fine as is, purchased 6 copies for friends to find out multiplayer was wrong. i know people will say local is multiplayer but that is why there is a local tag. majority of people assosiate multiplayer with the game actually having online multiplayer. I highly suggest providing online multiplayer to boost the game potential a ton.
Audio options also would be helpful..

This game is ridiculously great! I've been playing this piece of art for 4 years, laughing histarically every time I play it! (Along with my friends, of course!) I'm glad to see it be put on steam, and I love the simplicity of it. The 2D Shoot-Em-Up gameplay mechanic is nostalgic like JOUST, and unique in it's own way! Every person that I have introduced to this game NOT ONLY likes it, but gets HOOKED on it every time they come to my house! XD

My personal rating: 8̶/̶1̶0̶ 9/10

Why 9 you ask?
It's nothing large- or maybe thats just it... There is no way to change the resolution. This is the only thing that I think that this game needs, and it is crucial for people with different resolutions than 1280x[720p]. It would be great, and I would up my rating if there were a settings tab for resolutions, like 1080p, o̶r̶ ̶m̶a̶y̶b̶e̶ ̶j̶u̶s̶t̶ ̶a̶ ̶f̶u̶l̶l̶s̶c̶r̶e̶e̶n̶ ̶o̶p̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶t̶i̶m̶e̶ ̶b̶e̶i̶n̶g̶.̶

Update: There is a fullscreen option! :D Just press Alt+Enter! It doesn't change the resolution of the Render, but you can Use your whole screen! +1 to my Personal Rating.

This game is extremely fun, but I suggest against getting it until it is more developed. Unless you have an n-key rollover keyboard, the lack of customizable controls makes gameplay extremely glitchy. An AI would be nice, but making one would take a considerable amount of work. Online multiplayer would also be nice, but that's not very realistic for an indie game. The main thing bugging me right now is the keyboard - although the developer is not to blame for keyboard glitches, he could certainly help immensely by investing an hour or two to create customizable controls - I simply do not get why the dev does not make the controls customizable.
I would definitely recommend it once controls become customizable.
Right now, for example, if a keyboard is being shared, player 2 cannot jump if player 1 is mining to the right! That's a pretty big glitch, considering jump is pretty important, and player 1 mines to the right a lot (the whole point of the game is mining). Although experiences may differ from keyboard to keyboard, I think it suffices to say I have a machine worth over $1000 and it has a fairly decent keyboard.

I would give it a 5/10 in its current state, as glitches make it nigh unplayable with almost every keyboard
8/10 with customizable controls
9/10 if an AI is added
10/10 with online multiplayer

incredibly addicting. great multiplayer fun. My 5 year old begs to play this game all the time. It would be nice if there was a way to turn the music off, and there are a few small glitches (like a few levels where if you jump too high, you'll get stuck until someone kills you), but outside of these minor setbacks, it is a solid game. We've gotten far more than our money's worth out of it.

Best game with friends and cold beer. Loved it on Xbox, many hours of pure fun.
PC version with more content (maps, weapons, skinns) = great.

Only local mulitplayer, no singleplayer, no online.

Get it and have fun together like in the good old times :D

How do you quantify fun? Is there an exact unit of measurement for it? No. Fun is just a simple state of being or emotion. I am having fun. They're having fun. So with that in mind, doing a review on party games is rather a challenging aspect. The main draw of party games is playing them with your friends and usually blowing up your friends and soda coming out your nose. I don't feel necessarily that the game is the most important aspect in that situation, The game is just the canvas for you in that case.

Miner Warfare is just that, a canvas for fun. You are the one who has to fill it out. Well, you, and up to 7 other friends to be exact. Miner Warfare is a local multiplayer action game. The brainchild of the awesome developers who made Doom & Destiny. Combining elements of Minecraft/Terraria's digging for gold, with the carnage and insane gunplay of Contra. You are going to die, probably by your own hand even. This is the beauty, and charm of Miner Warfare.

The basic gameplay is a mixture of platforming and shooting as you try to nab as many gold coins as possible and killing your friends for their gold. It's really that simple of an idea and it works rather well. There is an insane amount of weapons that range from the Eye of Cthulu to some thing called the Mazinga, that just sprays explosions in a straight line. The chaos is amplified a hundred times per player added to the game. Yes, you can enjoy the game with just 2 people but its called a PARTY game for a reason. You want to play this game with as many people as possible.

The game has beautiful simple ideas and uses them effectively. There are other areas that Miner Warfare is simple in, but that doesn't equate to a good thing. The game doesn't feature any kind of options menu, no resolution control, sound sliders etc. You can get full resolution going by hitting alt-enter, but that isn't really made clear to you. Sadly there is no online multiplayer, making Miner Warfare exclusively a party game. There is no single player experience. What the game does have is costumes!

Name one game where Mickey Mouse can shoot Batman in the head with a chain gun? You can do that in this game! (Yes I know of modding/skins, please don't troll me.) Miner Warfare has several costumes to choose and many different levels for you to enjoy as well. This gives the game even more replay as you dig & destroy your way to victory.

Visually, everything works nicely here. The explosions, the adorable characters, the utter browness of most of the levels. The guns are cool and its easy to keep track of where the action is happening. What I really like about Miner Warfare is the UI. By that I mean the complete utter lack of UI. There is no gold counter, death counter, nothing to keep track of who is winning or who is losing. Which just lets the player completely focus on the chaos, and fun. This is a subtle but ingenious move on developers part. The winner is only determined after the match ends, but really who cares? That isn't really the point.

Now if you break down the game, is it the prettiest? No, but it's fun. Is it the most innovative? No, but it's fun. Does the game have an awesome soundtrack? No, but it's fun. Does the game have deep mechanics and is story rich? No, but it's fun!!! That is all that really matters here. This game is a great canvas for fun. The controls work well and there is plenty of chaos to go around.

You are going to get as much replay out of this depending on how much you are enjoying it. You could play for this a hundred matches or a few and move on. It really completely depends on the player. Just about anyone can figure out how to play this game in about two seconds and start enjoying themselves. There isn't some grand learning curve here. There are only about 4 buttons for petes sake.

So to wrap up, Miner Warfare is a fine addition to the party game genre. The price is overwhelmingly worth it at $3 dollars, if you have friends who will play it with you. While I would've loved and adored for there to be a online multiplayer, I don't know how difficult such a thing is to program or how much it costs. That doesn't take away from the fact that Miner Warfare is going to make you laugh, smile, and punch your friends in the shoulders, after they kill you and take all your gold.

Game is a riot! One of the most hilarious local multiplayer party titles out there. Only gripe would be the initial learning curve on the two stick controls, I wouldn't even try two people per controller option, though it is a nice try. The characters and music are really cute, but it does get repetitive and it would be good if there were more characters and levels to unlock. Still, this is a really fun casual multiplayer game and a must have.

Played a lot with friends before came on steam and now I will play it again! I definitely consumed this game! Lof of fun shooting at each other and throwing bombs without rules while stealing gold.

A perfect local multiplayer!

10/10

Amazing local multiplay game. I have some of the best memories playing this game with friends, up there with halo and n+. I only wish it had online multiplayer and 1080p resolution and it would be perfect.
