About This Game

The Stanley Parable is a first person exploration game. You will play as Stanley, and you will not play as Stanley. You will follow a story, you will not follow a story. You will have a choice, you will have no choice. The game will end, the game will never end. Contradiction follows contradiction, the rules of how games should work are broken, then broken again. This world was not made for you to understand.

But as you explore, slowly, meaning begins to arise, the paradoxes might start to make sense, perhaps you are powerful after all. The game is not here to fight you; it is inviting you to dance.

Based on the award-winning 2011 Source mod of the same name, The Stanley Parable returns with new content, new ideas, a fresh coat of visual paint, and the stunning voicework of Kevan Brighting. For a more complete and in-depth understanding of what The Stanley Parable is, please try out the free demo.

The Stanley Parable is a first person exploration game that is very different from any other games in that class. You actually dont challenge for anything and it has nearly 20 different endings. All of these endings just take 1 and a half hour only. You just relax, explore and listen. You will laugh some times, at least smile if you are not in a good mood. Graphics are above ok.

Summary: A funny parable. Must buy on sale.

Whoa...
It requires no skill.
You only use basic wasd movement.
Graphics are decent at best.
It is not long.

So what makes The Stanley Parable such a great game?

The Stanley Parable's one and only selling point is it's story. But man, it is one hell of a story (or rather, stories). You basically begin the game in the same setting every time. However, there are points in the game where you are forced to make a decision. These choices will ultimately lead you down different paths with vastly unique stories. It felt like there was deeper meaning behind each storyline, that there was a different lesson being taught as a consequence of your actions. Maybe I read too much into it, but it sure as hell impressed me.
The Stanley Parable will blow your mind.

Oh, and the narrator is incredible.

The Stanly Parable is an amazing game, there are so many ways to complete it. The narrator makes it funny, that's if you don't do what he tells you, but it is a really good game.

Very creative game. clever writting filled with surprises. Really gives players a sense of "choice" for their own ending. However, this is a game that can only be played once for a few hours. Once you know the ending(s), there isn't anything worth replaying the game for unless you love walking in an endless cycle.

Is it worth full price? No. But this game is definitely worth experiencing if it is on sale.

Is it worth $14.99? NO, but I do recommend it if you find it ON SALE. If not, then just buy a more superior game, Portal 2. Seriously, Stanley PArable is funny and it's great to show off to house guests but not much content here. It's so short, you probably can complete every scenario less than 2 HOURS. wink, wink.

Oh yeah, definitely play the demo first before buying...because it's own unique scenario

What an incredible game, so well written, such perfect execution... Don´t read anything about it, just go and play it, explore it for yourself and don't get spoiled. Or read everything and spoil it all, every single second of it. "Stanley had two options, and he chose the first one. No Stanley! What are you doing! Don't choose the second one, Stanley, please!"

It's different from the normal style of storytelling.
You interact but the narrarator is interacting as well.
An interesting game that sends you on journey that leads down multiple paths.
