September Newsletter

Hey everyone! Time for a quick status report on the next major update. Work on Version 1.7 is progressing well and you can expect it to be released at the end of October. The next few weeks will be spent rigourously testing all changes.

We have some exciting plans that we’re waiting to hatch, and will be talking more about those closer to the anniversary of the original Primal Carnage’s launch. For now, we can say that to commemorate four years of dinosaurs vs. humans, we will be running a special Anniversary Celebration event to coincide with the update. Expect some in-game discounts and special deals!

What is included in Version 1.7?

You asked us to focus on bug fixing and balance, that’s exactly what we have done. With the help of our Open Testing participants we have been tracking down and eliminating bugs, tweaking weapons, adjusting classes and evaluating performance.

Every map has had yet more collision fixes, layout adjustments and lighting refinements. We’ve also gone through our assets and optimized a lot of content, meaning that the game should run a little faster, use less memory and require less disk space after the next update. Substantial time has been spent improving our network traffic use as well, which should result in better network performance and reliability.

In addition to a whole slew of bugfixes and balance improvements, other new features will include:

-Improved spawning system
-Higher progression system level cap
-Adjustments to the Autobalance system and voting system
-More assist types and improvements to how we reward teamplay

Halloween Skin Contest

As we head towards that spooky time of year, we will be running a special Halloween-themed skin competition!

Create your skin using the Primal Carnage: Extinction SDK and submit it to the Workshop for your chance to be included in a Halloween store pack or crate. To take part, simply submit your skin to the workshop using the Halloween 2016 tag, then go vote on your favorite skins! You have until October 21st to submit your ideas.

We look forward to sharing more information as we get closer to the Anniversary Celebration, and thank you for your patience as we thoroughly test this next update.

*Credit goes to War Bear for yet another great header image!

About This Game

Dinosaurs have been resurrected from extinction on a remote tropical island. Now they have escaped, and a team of elite mercenaries has been dispatched to remove the threat.
The stage is set for the ultimate battle between man and beast.

Will you hunt down human prey as a variety of legendary prehistoric creatures? Or join the mercenary team and make these bloodthirsty beasts extinct for the second time?

The real question is... can you survive?

BIGGER. BETTER. MORE.

Primal Carnage: Extinction takes the successful formula of the original game and reinvigorates it with more dinosaurs, more game modes and more maps! Also featuring improved graphics, overhauled gameplay mechanics, re-imagined levels and greater customization that lets you play your own way.

INTENSE DINO GAMEPLAY

Unleash your inner dinosaur as you take control of the deadliest predators the world has ever known. Choose from 10 unique dinosaur classes with specialized roles, from sneaky spitters to towering tyrants, all ruthless and very hungry.

SPECIALIZED HUMAN CLASSES

Survive the island as one of 5 distinct human classes, each with their own special abilities to help the team. Use a wide variety of devastating weaponry and gadgets to take down your scaly foes.

MULTIPLE MODES OF CARNAGE

  • Fight to the top of the food chain in Team Deathmatch.
  • Work together to reach rescue, or ensure the humans never leave the island in the objective-based Get to the Chopper.
  • Challenge yourself to a never-ending onslaught of AI dinos in Survival co-op.
  • Stalk the humans as an invisible raptor or band together to take it down in Hunt mode.
  • Steal eggs from dinosaur nests or protect your unhatched babies in Capture The Egg (coming soon!)

DIVERSE ENVIRONMENTS

Wage over the top prehistoric warfare in a variety of environments, ranging from lush tropical jungles, to perilous mountaintops, to abandoned labs. Some maps feature blizzards and environmental hazards such as acid pits, so guns and teeth aren't the only things to worry about.

Best Skin Simulator Ever
  • No content (Updates come with new skins only, nothing else)
  • No Kill (Only Free-Roam -you can get kicked if you kill someone who is showing his/her skin-)
  • Kids (they take money from their father's credit card to buy skins on market that they will never use to play)
  • Bugs (since the game was released and they won't ever be repaired)
  • Skins (people have fun showing his/her skins and trading with them)
  • Easy money for devs with market and doing nothing.

If you're hoping for skins drops to make profit of - don't bother there are already hack to ruin prices http://steamcommunity.com/app/321360/discussions/1/359547436751657582/

And if you are about having fun and compete other players you need a good luck to not run into hackers. Even ranked servers in this game are run by players, not developers! They could do pretty much everything on their servers, including hacks.

The servers are most probably run by young kids and they use a lot of admin priviledges to keep themselves on top. The games are mostly unfair and once u start getting the hold of the online gameplay, u start noticing it all. Unlike many other online games, this game has a very few fair gaming servers. If u are an avid online gamer of CoD and CS GO, u'll immediately notice all that i've said here. Gameplay is great and engaging but multiplayer is spoiled by young kids. After playing it for months i've actually lost my interest in this game altogether. I'm not speaking for every player though.

Well I got about 11 or so hours in here and played with so called "Pros" Dinos win 80 percent of the time and the game is only doing ok because a fu<k load of YouTubers kept it alive and even some admitted payed shills. I am sure this review will be deleted by them. Regardless this game is fun to play as ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off dinos.

This is a decent game, not to bad, not to great. The only problems I had with it is that I expected to see it so that you go into battles that the company host, instead multiplayer is practically joining peoples servers that they run and when you find a decent server most people are always on dinosaur and will continously leave/join the game just to join the dinosaur sides which causing autobalance to rearrange way to often.

It is my only complaint, if that doesn't bother you then don't let this review make you hesitate to buy.

This game is far from perfect, but I'm sure we've all heard that before.
What this game offers is similar to the original Primal Carnage, yet there are many pros and cons.
Now the original had fantastic gameplay. The controls were great (For those of you who use controllers), the community is alright except for the lack of skill in everyone pouncing as raptor for most of the time, the classes are well balanced while the fighting is fair, and the skins were neat, realistic, and as simple as can be.
Primal Carnage Extinction? This game was supposed to be a 'better' version of the original. The game has come a long way from being absolutely terrible. It started out as just a game to buy fancy skins and show them off to people in Free Roam game-mode. But now the devs are at least making the playing-field fair. The gameplay is smooth for the most part; a little fast but hey it can't be perfect. The community has gotten better but it is still filled with cheap kids who just want to buy this game for the cool skins and walk around as a dinosaur. The classes though aren't really balanced imo. Sure they're the same from last time, but just tweak the humans in making them a lot stronger and a lot faster with not so great animations in some areas(humans). The dinos are also a bit op (raptor-wise), other than that I'd say the tyrants are completely useless. A human can walk around behind a 2500 hp spino and kill it in under a minute and the spino wouldn't even be able to touch him from behind. The PCE Market is full of decent skins but some are for like $200. Like c'mon. $200 for a dang Acro skin? Imo I think this game is revolved more around how the dinos look and what you can do with them. Their skins are labeled with a rare status. The lowest being common, the highest being legendary. I personally like how the original did their skins. They had no rare label, they were just there and you wore whichever skin you liked the best. On this game people want nothing but the "rare" skins, and will act like they rule the world if you've got let's say an uncommon compared to their legendary. This isn't in all cases though. They've also added these new animations or "taunts", an animation where the dino/human does some sort of a victory taunt whenever they kill someone. It's sort of futile to me seeming, whenever you take the time to taunt someone, another dino or human will come along the next second and take advantage of your inability and kill you.
So I think they should definitely improve the fairness when it comes to the classes and damage overall but this game is pretty fun. It isn't a game on skill, just a game on who can slash the human the quickest or who can explode the raptor the farthest. Pretty much anyone can be a pro in this game. I honestly think the original Primal Carnage is better in most areas where this game isn't but it's still pretty good. I personally have had some fun times in this game though, and it isn't bad. I feel like it will get better(hopefully), so if there were an option for an in-between recommendation for a review, that would be my pick. But there isn't so I'm going to have to go with a thumbs up and recommend you get it to try it for yourself.

Fun for a couple minutes until you notice how bad the animations are. Half the time you get killed by a dinosaur attack that is nowhere near you, probably due to the horrendous hit boxes on both humans and dinosaurs. On top of that, dinosaurs seem to clip through almost every object in the game so it's useless trying to use rocks/walls/trees as cover.

Should have been a free to play title.

This game is an amazing dinosaur game. Team deathmatch, dino deathmatch, get to the choper and survival. I suck at all these but they are a really great aspect of the game. I do prefur to go on role play servers such as MPQC's private rp server, MPQC's rp server and MPQC's little rp server. The skins you get are absoltly amazing.

I recommend this game for people who love deathmatch or role plays.

This game.......is one of my favorite games of all time. my reasoning behind this is that this game is all about co-operative you make friends, work with people you don't know, and in some instances role play is also co-op so if anyone is looking for a game that involves you into the community and that involves dinosaurs i recommend this game
