My steam profile might say I only have 0.3 hrs or so currently (that may change soon), but I have played this game extensivley on the X-Box 360, and I can say that it is definitely one of my favorite games of all time. The story is so interesting, and your quest seems so important that when you reach a goal, or finish one of the quests it flows so naturally into the next. I could sit down and play this for HOURS (although I could say the same for any Fallout game). The only problem with playing this on steam is that it WILL NOT RUN on WINDOWS 8 or 10 (unless 3rd party software/code manipulation is done, which still might not work). It will work, however, if you run on Windows 7, Vista or XP or if you have a comp that can switch from different versions. Honestly, if you want to play this game, but don't have the right os, don't spend a bunch of money getting Windows 7, just play it on PS3 or X-Box 360. If you enjoy an open yet isolated feeling, an eerie feeling everytime you see something move in the distance, or an enthralling story with exciting combat and endless hours of fun, it doesn't matter what you play it on, as long as you play it.

Fallout 3 is a great and interesting game. I couldn't stop playing it until I collected all bobbleheads, special weapons, and finished the main story mode. But I wanted more; so I continued through all side quests, and the multiple DLCs.

The main story's ending was disappointingly thin and weak in disposition; however the game, itself, is very story-rich and it has aged well. Get it.

Fallout 3 the game set in a post apocalyptic nuclear war as a fps and third person shooter breaking from vault 101 as a vaultdweler you are set on an adventure to find your dad that escapes vault 101 and it is up to you to survive what the wasteland throws at you with raiders bandits and all sorts of baddies and find your dad now this game has problems with windows 7, 8, and 10 so it can be frusturating but there is ways to fix it on youtube and on steam threads but getting it working with those fixes is sure as hell worth it being a amazing game for it's time and still today

This is one of the post-apocalypse game that I really liked. Here you can do whatever you want, you can go through the whole game by stealth or have a fresh meat. All your actions will be reflected in future story. I recommend!

Wanted to replay the game after a long space of time from the last time I played it which was on a PS3. Managed to get it to work using a guide on Windows 10.

Fantastic game overall.

Better than Fallout 4, Fallout 3 is also up there as one of the best ganes made, sadly like all other Bethesda games, time has not been well to this old gem

The annoyance with Games for Windows Live (And then its shutdown) has always been a problem, now that steam has removed the CD-Key from the game, it is no longer possible to connect to the internet to get Xbox Achivements (But it does work if you give it a key from another G4WL game, like GTA 4, Wierd) The game also has performance problems such as crashing and sound issues but after following a few guides, you can then start playing

Personally, I like Fallout 3 better because its just generally a bigger and more imaginative game (Possible a reson for this is because it doesnt have a voiced PC and so more can be done) Also, the DLC is a lot better and not underwhelming as Fallout 4

(Excluding the issues) The ending is the problem with the game, unless you have DLC, the game just finishes and you can no longer play and complete side quests etc unless you load up a previous save

How to get FO3 working on Windows 10.
This worked for me (AMD FX-8350, Nvidia GTX780), so I´ll share it with you.

1. Download Games for Windows LIVE Disabler
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/1086/?
Just open the exe and select Disable G4WL.

2. Go to C:\users\yourname\Documents\My Games\Fallout3\FALLOUT.ini
Open the file with Notepad
Find bUseThreadedAI=0 and change it to bUseThreadedAI=1, immediately below it add a line with iNumHWThreads=2

This should be enough for most of you.

3. If the game crashes at a new game, download this modified d3d9.dll.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4rlGqEs-BxtcWdEdlh0TDM1Skk
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty\ and paste it there.

This dll makes FO3 think that you have a Nvidia 7900GS, so your graphic settings will be reset. Just adjust them to your liking again, most modern GPUs can run perfectly with the Ultra preset.

Don´t forget to enable all the data files in the launcher. For some reason, the DLCs come disabled by default.

Enjoy this classic on your Win10 setup.

I've tried every single fix the internet and all it's denizens suggest as well as the official resolutions recommended by designers. Game will not run on Windows 10 and they won't give me my money back. I hope your mother gets run over by a runaway radish cart.
