About This Game

A fly ascends to the skies, pondering the pointlessness of its brief existence.
The Plan was developed as a side project by Krillbite Studio, who's currently finishing their main project Among the Sleep.

  • "Hey, You Should Play This"
    - Patrick Klepek, Giantbomb
  • "Some may argue that The Plan isn't really a game and it definitely occupies the same terrain as Journey, Passage, and Dear Esther, but it's shorter than Journey, prettier than Passage, and less overwrought than Dear Esther, making it well worth taking a punt on for the low price of free."
    - Jeffrey Matulef, Eurogamer
  • "It’s that space in the mechanics for thought and interpretation that I appreciate most here. The Plan won’t break your brain, but it’s a nicely contemplative journey."
    - Nathan Grayson, RockPaperShotgun
  • "In order, here are the emotions I experienced during the three minutes it took me to play The Plan, the new free morsel from the Norweigan indie developer Krillbite: confusion, frustration, boredom, fear, amusement, delight, joy, enchantment, and regret. One of the things independent games ask us to do is accept that a three-minute game can be as valid as a thirty-hour one. Games like these make it hard to disagree."
    - Joseph Bernstein, Buzzfeed
  • "Krillbite Studio, the developers behind Among The Sleep, have gone on and released a most polished, visually stunning and freeware new game"
    - Konstantinos Dimopoulos, Indiegames.com
  • "Krillbite's The Plan is a short, sharp experimental deliberation on the meaning of life."
    - Andy Chalk, The Escapist

More of an experience - a short one - than a game, but delivers exactly as promised.

I guess what you get out of this, is going to be relative to what you put into it. I found it to be food for thought on a number of topics so it is interesting enough for me, even just for this reason

But I also find the graphics to be sweet, soundtrack to be one of zero-annoyance, and the ending was effective and well-placed to avoid monotony - and can add a new spin to your musings.

Replayability - well it is a kind of story without much ability to control it so once you have seen it, any replayability will come down to whether you will get more thought from re-experiencing it, and that is subjective - I will keep the game in my account because I would like to see what I get from it, or put into it, upon replay at some time.

And I did not feel that the price was unreasonable :)

I would recommend this as a short experience that may inspire some reflections, and I will be interested to see what more interactive and immersive creations the devs come up with.

Overcame all the obstacles...survived strong winds, spider webs, falling leaves, everything...only for it all to go to waste when the fly died in the end...

Well, what can I say?
I usually do not jump into playing Free To Play and Early Access Steam games cause they are usually bad.
But some game's like this one are master pieces.
This is a really short game, but very inspiring and worth every second of playtime.
The sound, artwork, mechanics are all very beautiful.
I'd recommend this to anyone. It's worth it.

There's nothing objectionable about this game's mechanics, but I was left in the end wondering why I wasted my time on it.

The Plan is one of the best atmospheric short games I played. No doubt it's short but it leaves you thinking deep!
