everything in the game is designed for you to want to buy and use gems and you are basically playing an rng gem buying simulator

at one point I had crafted 5 items for my heros with a 0.8% chance of breaking that broke within less than 40 quests on the same day after I spent a few hours crafting them
that is 1/125 chance of breaking or 99.992% chance of breaking

and yet it still happened because buy gems.

how about no. I dont want rng destroying everything I do.

not worth playing if you value your time at all because other games do not do this and you should play those instead

Played this game on Kongregate. It's fun, but absolutely built with play to win areas and annoying obstacles built in to motivate you to do microtransactions. It isn't even about timers, 40 hours in, I never had the urge to rush a timer. But here's where they'll get you to spend money.

1) Upgrade your fusion caldron. This is like the horadric cube from Diablo, and absolutely vital to getting higher rarity items. To start, you can only bake 1 item at a time, but can eventually upgrade it to do 4-5 at a time.

2) Upgrade crafting slots. Later on, they make you use multiple lower level items to craft higher items. Upgraded "slots" bypass this requirement and massive annoyance.

3) Upgraded quest slots. Heroes quest, then rest. This makes it so they automatically rest when done.

4) Exclusive content. There's monthly packages ($15 a month) that are limited time. There are also currently 4x $20 packages, and 3x $50 packages on Kongregate (and surely soon on Steam).

You can also buy things before you level up and unlock them, but that's unnecessary. You do earn gems as you level, but even if you save every single one, it's barely enough to upgrade your caldron.

In other words, all "DLC" for this game costs $400-$500 and growing. Check out the wikia "micro transactions" to see what I mean.

Typical free to play you'd find on Facebook/Kongregate/etc.

The game has a decent early to mid-game...but once you start reaching the later tier items it takes 50 minutes or worse just to craft ONE ITEM. Once you reach that level the game just isn't worth wasing your life on, even when you have a good group of people actively putting gold into your town and dealing with City Raids, etc.

You can get gems semi-easy once you can get 3+ heroes to send on quests. Filling out requests from certain NPCs can net you 25 gems sometimes and the wheel of (mis)fortune can net you gems RARELY...and given alot of useful stuff is locked behind gems (sometimes up to 1000-3000+) it's either plunk $$$ to get them (or get broken-tier workers + Gems! Pay to win is great!).

The game also makes some of the most questionable choices in game mechanics for a FtP/Shop Builder game.
--You can't upgrade more than ONE workstation/Object at the time in the store.
--The store "running out of room" when there is clearly TONS OF ROOM LEFT on the store floor is just...why? Why isn't this tile based 'space' like other games before it?
--Things taking 50+ minutes to craft late-game and heroes "demand" things done in 3mins...or worse, Requests that require more than 24+ of those "50 minute" tier items.
--Heroes asking for items YOU CAN'T EVEN CRAFT.
--Items breaking every-♥♥♥♥ing-time you send heroes out...and the "break chance" is 3.0% or less. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥T!
--"Gem Trap"...the "refill" button when you try to click a item to craft and don't have the materials available; it doesn't refill the resource pile, just THAT crafting of the item. Congrats, you just wasted 7+ gems to craft ONE ♥♥♥♥♥♥ item if you thought that "refill" button would refill the resource pile. ♥♥♥♥ move devs.

If you got life you want to waste, then this will waste it pretty well...but there are better Shop Builder games (both Free AND purchasable..) than this game. I suggest you find those or play Reccetear.

Great game! Highly addictive, play at your own pace, be it casual or competatively.

Customizable avatar (cosmetic).

Takes seconds to learn, a lifetime to master! ;)

Build up your shop, level up your heroes (shop heroes), join a city and dominate the leaderboards!

GREAT tech support, lots of staff that answers emails within 1hr, lots of bug fix patches every month, some microtransactions to speed up your progress, but not necessary at all to play.

This is NOT a pay to win game.

Very addicting game where you make items to sell to heroes or give to them to wear on quests. Questing mechanic is kinda lame but other than that would recommend if you are looking for a casual game that isn't really a game. Log on 2 to 3 times a day for about 10 minutes each and you'll have a blast.

I've been playing this game for only 3 days. To be honest, even with the freemium elements, it's quite easy to get by without actually purchasing freemium stuff. It got me hooked to the point that im checking my progress every hour for the past 3 days.

Light fun to play while you're watching your TV shows. You're a quest giver for adventurers and you employ weapon and armor smiths to sell gear to adventurers. It has pvp which is pretty meh but the town building and whatnot is fun. It's one of those timer games where everything takes x amount of time and you need one of these thingamabobs to craft a whatchimicalit to get the materials needed so you can build that whoziwhatsis you want. I dug it for the novelty of it but to me it just became a string of click this then click that as the winning strategy is readily apparent and there isn't much in the way of skill beyond patience; for it's genre though it rules. Ok, this is the only one of these types of games I've played really but I've heard of the farming game so as a gamer I think I can still say this is a good one of that sorta game. Cheers!

I love this game. Sure, it's reminiscent of Facebook games, and the app (which it's based off of) but it's a good game in general. If you don't like games that aren't app-like, then don't bother playing it. It's the type of game that you play for a few minutes, leave idle and come back to it. It's something to do when you're bored, or have the free time and need something to fill the void. I love the art style, and the several things you can do: buy/sell items to adventurers, put together a group of adventurers for the arena (vs. other players and their adventurers) and put your adventurers into 'raids' and gathering missions (the time varies and only goes up as you get to higher points in the game). My only complaint towards the game is the coin and gem currency. The gems are the currency you have the option of to pay money (real life money, mind you) for more. However, there are adventurer 'missions' that if successful reward you gems (10+). Overall, for what the game is (and for it being F2P), there's not a lot to complain about but many will find the faults in the game and do nothing but poke and prod at it. Play it if you think you'll enjoy it, don't if you don't think you will.

This game is great. Some who are writing negative reveiws and saying its pay to win simply did not play it much i think. You can accually play this game completely free and get almost everything those who are paying get. Firrst mistake i made when i started was joining a built up city early. You are better off staying with a really unbuilt city early cause it cost you nothing to use boost. The nice thing is you can make tons of gems for free from missions an crafting. I get about 400 gems a day just from crafting right now. Once you lvl up and high lvl workers they craft higher quality items a lot that sell for a lot more. higher lvl crafts do take longer but right now i can do lvl 50 crafts in less then 4 hours. You have to upgrade your workstations for faster crafting times. Any way hope you enjoy and don't beleive everything negative you hear.

Despite many people looking down on this game it is incredibly addictive and played it non-stop for an entire week before resorting to at least once every two days. I love upgrading my city and i hate to say it but i spent real money on this game for gems. I have an addictive personality and this drew me in within minutes. Definetly worth the gameplay and why not give it a try? It is free you know :P

Basic shop game where you craft/construct items; upgrade your store and workstations and slowly earn money so you can expand the city that you're in charge of. There is a multiplayer base so others can join your city and donate toward your cause if you'd like and mini quests such as leveling up Explorers for arena battles and dungeon quests for resources. All in all I'd give it a 4/5

I want to love this game.

I really like the mechanics for the shop and questing.

But, this game suffers from the problem that most online games with premium currency have.

***Pay us money or we will waste as much of your time as we can.***

In the early stages of the game you can easily level and learn new recipes.
If you are only interested in getting to level 10 - 16 and calling that victory, you will love this game.

Slowly you hit the impossible pay wall that makes your play sessions more and more meaningless.

Leveling becomes veeeeeeeery slooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww.
The hero quest system is very irritating with the gear break system. (It would take hours to make a good low break chance set of gear for a level 15 hero if you are not using premium currency.)

Don't even bother, it's a shameless pay-to-play game.
Hitting paywalls in every direction in less than 40 minutes from start.
When not at paywall, requires clicking for everything.
