Available Now: Game Update 64!

Game Update 64 is now available, and it brings with it two potentially terrifying events if you don’t have your wits about you.

The Witching Hour

The Witching Hour, DCUO’s Fall Seasonal Event, has returned once again! It’s up to you, heroes and villains, to head to the streets of Gotham City and inside the Midnight Masquerade Nightclub and see if you can get a handle on the horrors that are haunting it. Heroes, you’ll look for the Phantom Stranger inside the East End Safehouse; villains, find Tala inside The Tap Room in Burnley. They will have further instructions for you!

Each day of the event, look for The Witching Hour in your Mission Journal; complete the mission and earn Spooky Bites, which can be used in Skeets’ Boo-tique for the latest in scare-wear, tricks, treats, and creepy items for your Base or League Hall. To queue for The Midnight Masquerade, go to your On Duty UI and look under the Events tab. The mission and the event are available to players at or above Level 10.

If you want to stock up on the latest items but don’t have quite enough Spooky Bites, visit the Marketplace! Spooky Bites can now be purchased and then used in game at Skeets’ Boo-tique.

And don’t forget to visit The Vault during The Witching Hour. It’s a bit spookier in there than you’re used to!

In 2016, The Witching Hour brings with it new Base Items, Feats, and Styles! If you get any for your character, make sure you share screenshots with us on Twitter (@DCUO) or on the forums!

Survival Mode: Oan Sciencells

You have faced the worst of the universe before, but not like this! With the return of Survival Mode: Oan Sciencells, you’ll be faced with stronger foes and increased challenges. Queue up and see how long you can last against unending waves of the slew of universal criminals threatening to escape. Players can queue up for Survival: Oan Sciencells in the Event tab (if they meet the CR requirement).

With GU64, Survival Mode: Oan Sciencells will feature new Exo Pants and Custom Exo Back for rounds 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10!

Requirements: 8 Players, Minimum CR 173 (175 Recommended).

Aura Pack II + Spooky Bites

New Vapor Aura variants and Spooky Bites (seasonal currency) are now available in the Marketplace! Visit this article for all the details!

Celebrate Batman Day with DCUO!

Saturday, September 17, 2016 is an auspicious day in this part of Gotham City (and the whole DC Universe). It’s Batman Day! Batman appears in many forms in DCUO; revisit our feature from last year to see him in his many in-game forms.

This year, in honor of the truly legendary Dark Knight, we have some special happenings inside DCUO! But rather than limit them to a single day, they’ll be occurring for nearly an entire week – from Thursday, September 15 through Wednesday, September 21, 2016.

Legends PvE Week

Batman is the quintessential Legend. So this week all Legends PvE events are open for all players! Ready to head to the South Gotham Courthouse? Think you have what it takes to tackle Area 51? Will the Hall of Doom or the Paradox Wave prove to be your undoing? There are twelve events in total that you can attempt during the Legends PvE Week, from September 15 through September 21, 2016!

Marketplace Sale

In addition to the Legends event, if you head to the Marketplace you’ll find that Exobyte Data for all Legends characters are on sale for 40% off! Ever wanted to experience Legends content as Future Batman? Maybe Bombshell Catwoman? Or Arkham Asylum Joker? These and more will be available during our weeklong sale.

And if that weren’t enough, we’re also marking Batman-related items in the Marketplace down 40% as well! This includes base items (like the Batcomputer & More Pack), style items (such as the Batman Cowl Pack), toys (the Batman bouncy ball!) and more. Get Caped Crusader style and decorate your personal Batcave to match, all at a great discount.

Trivia Sweepstakes

We’ll have news about this ON Batman Day, September 17. Check the DCUO forums and follow @DCUO on Twitter to see the details and to enter!

Now, it’s time to be the hero (or villain) that DCUO deserves. Head in game and start celebrating Batman Day in Gotham City and beyond!

The event and sale begin in the US with daily server restarts at 4AM PT on September 15, 2016, and end at 4AM PT on September 22, 2016. The event and sale begin in the EU with daily server restarts at 8PM PT on September 14, 2016, and end at 8PM PT on September 21, 2016.

Base content is free and you can have plenty of fun with it.
But if you want to enjoy all it has to offer you will have to pay.

i really would recommmend this game if it wasn't a greedy mess. I used to play this game years ago when it truly was "Free to Play" with only very little super cool items you'd have to pay for which was maybe understandable, but they truly broke this game down to a Pay to Win piece of severely restricted ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t i don't even get access to the InGame currency without having to pay for it... a monthly subscription!!!... i'll admit i put some money into this game to get new powers and a cool skin but there's no way i'm going to pay a monthly subscription to a once amazingly active and actual Free to Play game you guys ♥♥♥♥ing ruined a great game with your ♥♥♥♥♥♥ greed...

But i'll admit aside from all that there is still some fun left in this game! The Character Creation is great although i wish they could add more weapons or even more powers but as sure as ♥♥♥♥ you're probably going to have to pay for it... anywhom yes there is some fun in here... like constantly grinding some of the same missions over and over after you've hit 30! honestly to get anymore missions or storylines you have to pay for them... ♥♥♥♥ it i'll make my own Free to Play superhero MMORPG i mean it's probably not going to happen for awhile... but i love the concept of this game so much but they just have to ruin it with Memberships and Constant begging for your money, this is one of the most money begging F2P games i've ever played

i absolutely hated writing this review... :(

I dont understand why everyone says "it feels like a demo." Efven though there is 22 DLC's, (which is isane I have to say) but it still feels like a good MMO.

An MMO, to me, is about the massively multiplayer aspect. If it's just a single player game in a multiplayer universe then I really don't see the point. This game is neither and both, it's a single player game and it's a multiplayer game, but for me the multiplayer side just didn't work.

The first group instance is pretty good, but I noticed a problem straight away as a Level 60-something joined in with the Level 10-ish's and steamrolled the content, meaning the rest of us might as well have not been there. Later I noticed nobody changed their roles, everyone stuck to Damage instead of setting up as Tank/Healer/Controller, so people died over and over like some weird zerg against the enemy.

Finally, the later group instances are just ridiculous for lower levels. The one I went into was blue level 12 for me at level 15 and as soon as anything so much as looked at me, I was dead in a couple of seconds. This was made worse by the fact that everyone was staying Damage, so there was no Tank to draw the fire. The only option was to follow the inevitable level 50-something around and pick up the loot and xp as you went.

Totally pointless multiplayer game. The solo game is kinda boring and repetitive. For me, not recommended.

It's an extremely fun game. My only real issue it that I have DLC from before they switch to "episodes" that only unlocks powers, and not the content that was converted to episodes.

Okay I'll say this first. it is a decent game, but after a while it does get seriously repetative and if you wish to continue playing this game and explore the content? prepare your wallet.. I myself have forked out money for it and I was happy with it untill you get bored of it, Continue to run this and that get the gear and guess what? New content 5$ please to continue.. If you wish to subscribe I really recommend doing so early on or untill you get your first level 30 character or you will be held back severely limiting your character to about 40/50 combat rating. Now I'd be happy to continue playing this game if they did somthing with all the lockouts from content, Such as release a demo version of it like they did with the wonder woman event you get access to the content but with longer lock outs for loot, I wouldn't mind that at all and it'll give newer players a chance to try out and get new gear and not be locked behind a wall and quiting soon after or paying to just continue to repeat and not touch it after a set combat rating because theres no use.. I'm not kidding, Once you get to a certain cr you have no reason to go back in to the instance unless ofc your helping a guild or friend out or the off toon to level up. But all in all i would recommend this game for a bit, but unless you plan to sub or just buy the content monthly don't bother.

This is an awesome DC game though I have uninstalled this game like 3 times because of me being HHD space awareness syndrome. Would definitly recommend to Marvel fans and DC fans alike.
