You know what? I'll say it. This is actually one of the best shooters of all time. Everything is so thoroughly thought through, even to the point where you can basically stealth most levels in a game that isn't even really about stealth, just thanks to how good the AI and mechanics are.
You an pick up a chair for no real reason and you can't just pick up a chair and then use a knife or handgun with it.
Plus,
NAZIS!
SCIENCE!
THE OCCULT!
GREAT GUNPLAY!
GET IT!

Just be sure to right click on the game, click properties and click Set Launch Options and enter the following line into the box:
+set r_primitives 2
This will fix all performance issues you may have, and let you run the game at max settings without stuttering.
Also possibly grab the unnofficial patch: www.markshan.com/knightmare/downloads/rtcw-sp-1.42d-win32-bin.zip
This fixes several bugs and adds widescreen support.
Just get it and beat it so you can say you were man enough to do it.

The best game of the series Wolfenstein in my opinion. Not only because it has lots of weapons and it's very challenging, but just for those memories brought back to life. Most gamers started with this kind of game and it's very satisfying playing it again after lots of years.

I used to think first-person shooters were all about the graphics. I used to think old games like this one just weren't worth it anymore in the modern era of action games. I was an idiot.

A classic for sure. My personal favorite WWII game....it's historically accurate in my book.

Play If: You love shooting nazis, love shooting zombies, love ID games, are in love with old school shooters

Don't Play If: You need shooters to be more "modern", need amazing graphics (in its defense this game was a graphical masterpiece in its day), like historically accurate WWII games, think shooters need regenerating health

Return to Castle Wolfenstien has been my favorite game every since I found my dad playing it when I was little. I would sit on his lap and watch him play. I've mastered this game and played custom maps or mods I even played with HD textures. This game has been my one time favorite I used to own it on disk or downloaded I geuss until one day I got this game on steam and now I have played it for a very long time. So I'd recommend you try this game out.

Awesome game. I had this as a teenager, and think it's an essential for any FPS gamer's Steam library. Also, to share this with the community, there isn't actually a need to use unofficial patches to get proper widescreen resolutions. RTCW runs on Tech3, the same engine that powered Quake III. Simplest method is to use the console:

r_customwidth 1920
r_customheight 1080
r_mode -1
vid_restart

Replace 1920 and 1080 with your native display resolution.

This Game; This one game, opened my eyes to a new kind of fun. It was the first game I EVER PLAYED. I loved it. Its Half Life, but BETTER! If you HAD to get a WWII FPS, this HAS to be the one you play first. No matter WHAT.
I was very little when I played this, of course, it scared me.

- Still creepy at some moments
- Single-Player stood the test of time
- Multiplayer became Wolfenstien: Enemy Territory (AIA Clan)
- Very Positive reviews; 1441 positive, 106 negative.

It was an awesome game, but cannot play online because Steam issues you an invalid CD key. Good luck!
