OK product for portability

Overall - Really Good

Posted by: V22crewchief from Broken Arrow, OK on 10/02/2015I bought this to replace an ASUS Android tablet. I have a Windows Phone and Windows PCs, so buying this tablet seemed like a logical choice. I recently took this tablet on a business trip and it was really nice to use the real keyboard and touch pad instead of having to rely on an on-screen keyboard. The screen is nice and bright, I used to watch movies on the flight to the conference. I recommend this tablet, it has good performance, good display good memory and storage space.

great little computer

Posted by: donnajo from on 09/18/2015I've only had this Acer for less than a week but so far, so good! I was looking for a compact Windows laptop/tablet. This little guy is perfect!! Comes with Windows 10 already installed. It doesn't have a lot of bloatware. It is reasonably fast. It streams Netflix beautifully. The keyboard is easy to use, thanks to full size keys. Battery life is better than I expected. The price is great for this computer and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Perfect to take to class and carry around

Posted by: Dude300 from on 09/17/2015Great product. FULL Windows 10 is a major plus and comes with mobile Microsoft office. The battery lasts all day. This computer is ultra portable and really cheap. This is much more useful than my Samsung tablet! In fact I am selling my Samsung tablet! Cons: speaker volume could be louder I wish it had full hdmi out instead of mini hdmi could be thinner, but for the price I'm not complaining. I WOULD recommend this to any student or anyone who needs a highly mobile computer on a budget!

Unbeatable Value

Posted by: Gronkowski from Milford CT on 09/15/2015I'm very pleased overall with this 2 in1. It feels like a mini laptop that you can use as a tablet as well. The tablet and keyboard seem of good quality and feel like they will last. Touchscreen and keyboard are responsive and work well. I plugged in a wireless mouse and I'm loving the option to be able to go back and forth using a wireless mouse when want and touchpad mouse when i don't. With the windows 10 it has Cortana that you can give voice commands. Pretty cool perk. For $200 you cant go wrong with this one, especially compared to a surface that starts $400 more. I'm able to do everything I need for work on this tablet. It seems to take a while to charge up and battery life isn't great but Id still give it 5 stars.

Fine netbook but lacking as a tablet

Posted by: BusinessUser1 from Bay Area, Ca on 09/14/2015This is my first tablet running a MS Windows OS and I find the shortcomings overshadow what works well. First, the Windows OS does not allow the user to close apps/programs by swiping, and it takes a lot of effort to close things out by touch because the exit icon is too small. Second, this model has a lot of difficulty connecting to both public and private WIFI networks. Lastly, with the attached keyboard, the unit is too heavy to hold and use as a tablet. Although, I think the ability to install Windows based programs I use on this little machine to be wonderful, Android based tablets simply provides a more reliable and user friendly experience. In conclusion, I think this machine is a fine netbook as it allows users to install applications built for Windows. However, it is lacking as a tablet when compared to Android based systems.

Zippy little computer for what I need

Posted by: harpgirl from on 09/11/2015I've had this computer for less than a week but already I love it! I will separate my review into a few sections. (I am actually writing this review on my Acer One 10.) Keyboard: I also have a 16" Acer Aspire that's a couple years old, and the keyboards feel very similar, so typing on the Acer One is a breeze. I'm surprised at how spacious the keyboard is, and the keys feel very nice when typing. This was important to me because my primary reason for purchasing this device was typing notes in my college classes. It's very easy to attach and separate the tablet from the keyboard. There is also a full-sized USB port on the side which is so important for productivity for me. I'm not sure how I feel about the touchpad yet. The motion to scroll is opposite what I'm used to on my bigger Acer laptop so I'm fighting muscle memory half the time. And it's a little hard to hold down the left click button and move the pointer with one hand. So I have to do the click and drag motion with two hands on the touchpad. The tablet and keyboard are held together by magnets so once connected, the unit feels very sturdy. I can pick it up by the tablet and the keyboard is very firmly still attached with no risk of falling. Screen: The 10" screen is a nice, portable size, but large enough to be productive. Even at 25% brightness, it feels bright and has vibrant colors. There is almost no distortion, even when viewing at extreme angles. I've used it under some pretty bright lights and been able to see the screen just fine. Audio: It's fine when watching YouTube or Netflix videos in a quiet room. But the audio was definitely quiet when I was on a Skype call with my dad. The speakers are at the back of the tablet, instead of on the edges like some tablets. So the sound is projected away from you. The quality is crisp, but I usually listen with earbuds so I don't bother my room mates. Performance: It is very responsive and the 2 GB of RAM is plenty fast enough for me. So far it hasn't stuttered at all; I've mostly been editing word documents and writing in One Note, browsing on Chrome (so far up to 8 tabs at once and no issues), and watching Netflix. I'm not a gamer, so I can't tell you how it would perform when playing games. It comes with very little bloatware pre-installed which was nice. Be aware that while it has 32 GB, some of that storage is being used for the OS, so you will actually have about 16 GB to use. I got a 64 GB microSD card and I don't think I'll run out of space. Battery: I haven't really timed the use from a full charge to dead battery, but I seem to be getting more like 8 hours, which is more than the advertised 7. I just figured out that there are some settings so you can have it automatically turn off the wifi signal and other things while sleeping, which helps boost battery life. Software: my other computer runs Windows 7. I haven't had much experience with Windows 8, but what little I did have made me hate it. It just didn't feel very user friendly. I've grown up using Windows, starting with Windows '98. So far, I really like Windows 10. Almost everything is in the places I'm familiar with. The start menu is back to being a menu that pops up from the bottom corner (but there is a setting to make it a full-screen menu if you liked that feature of Win 8). The design and themes are still very customizable. I don't really like the new Edge browser because I can't add extensions (pinterest button is so handy for me!) but it's light years better than Explorer. I did have issues at first with the App Store closing immediately after I tried to open it every time. Microsoft help center couldn't fix it remotely. I was able to get it to work after going to the app store through my Chrome browser and when I tried to download an app from there, it forced the app store program to open and it's worked fine ever since. Overall build quality/feel: the tablet back is made of brushed metal which looks and feels great in the hand. It's a comfortable shape to hold. The keyboard is made of plastic but feels very solid, with no twist, give or creaking when handled. When tablet and keyboard are connected, it closes and opens just like a netbook or laptop. My only wish is that there was a door over the microSD slot. In conclusion, I think this is an incredibly great device for the under-$200 price I paid. Acer is a great company and I've had great experiences with their products. I highly recommend it!
