Great value

Posted by: mwaleung from on 10/09/2015Initially there was a problem with how the keyboard was mapped but after upgrading to Windows 10, that was fixed! The tablet seems to run so much more smoothly afterwards. It may be heavier with the detachable keyboard but for the price, what is a little more weight? The tablet itself looks beautiful! Also, since it is a windows tablet, you don't need apps like YouTube or Twitch when you can simply use an internet browser. And yes you can still play Candy Crush if you like that!

Love this device and Chromebook killer.

I also owned a 10.1 inch tablet that felt extra heavy in its case and felt bulky after a while. I promised myself I would never again buy a big tablet as I like to read and they felt bulky in my hands. However because this was on sale at the time I felt a strong temptation to get it because the smaller cheaper windows tablets had low battery life and no keyboard and poor screen resolution. It was a very hard choice to make and after an hour of thinking it over I bought it. I said to myself I would never buy another 10.1 tablet or a tiny laptop and that day I walked out the store with both. Shockingly I ended up totally loving the T100 and after almost a year Its my favorite device I have ever owned. Perhaps its the built quality because as a laptop it feels like a 1,000 slim notebook PC. If your comming from android or apple let me say that the office software makes a huge difference if your using this for productive purposes like job hunting or school. I thought it was a gimmick but seriously its much better to have a tablet with a good keyboard. The keyboard has a usb port on the corner! The battery life even after a year is still awesome. The fact that I can easily connect it to my TV via HDMI makes up for its tiny speakers and small screen. Bottom line it will feel like a cool slim ultra portable laptop that you can take out anytime to use. In my opinion the whole point of buying a laptop is for It to be portable and in that sense this defeats bigger laptops(even the smaller laptops) and it also feels like a nice tablet. If this was just a laptop or just a tablet I would not like it but the ability to transform it quickly is awesome. I cannot tell you how many times i snap off the keyboard to take the screen with me to the bathroom for reading or to read on the bus. I dont have to buy a case as the keyboard protects the screen and also functions as a stand. Also this is a chromebook killer as from hybernation it boots up in a second! If your deciding between a chromebook and this then buy this instead! All I have to say is that its not a gimmick and I love the T100. The entire package is worth a lot more than the price of admission. I would suggest you get the best version of the t100 because even at 300, 400 its worth a lot more. I am a very picky person and after a year I still love it. The only flaw is that its not as powerful as a regular laptop when you compare specs but aside from that this baby kicks apples and androids butt. You can still decide to buy a huge laptop or desktop in the future if you need power but still keep this as your portable device. I used to be an android fan but now I see why people prefer microsoft. Not as many games as on android or apple but the games they do have are great quality. You won't be spending forever looking for a decent game as I did on android. Just get this if you are fishing for a bargain and if you want both a tablet and laptop in one. You won't regret it.

Don't waste your time.

Posted by: JLAD1105 from on 10/02/2015This laptop is difficult to navigate. I tried downloading MS Office 365 and still can't tell if it has all the appropriate applications. It doesn't remain powered up for very long and takes several hours to get to a functioning state. ASUS Customer Service is also one of the worst I've ever encountered. I sent them an email requesting help, and they still haven't responded. I'm preparing to send this back. Don't waste your time or money on it.

Nice tablet with a few flaws

It's lightweight enough to carry around and it handled the update to windows 10 with the help of some extra memory, But, it stopped working after a few days and I returned it. The second one did the same thing after a few days, but came back on a day later. I contacted ASUS and they thought it was a phone and never did properly respond.

Great Tablet with Trash OS

Posted by: ThomasDee from on 09/27/2015Purchased tablet to go overseas with me. Worked fairly well out of box but offered Windows 10 upgrade. I waited until I returned to do the upgrade to Windows 10. Not please with Windows 10 I tried to reset the tablet to it's default state only to find Windows 10 has broken the factory restore process. As a long time pc and desktop support professional I can now see that Microsoft is using the public to beta test it's new operating system at the buyers expense. Don't fall into this trap. Just say "No" to Windows 10 upgrade. Better yet buy a tablet with an android operating system and be trouble free.
