It works

Posted by: rylos from Minneapolis, MN on 01/31/2013So far so good. I got mine yesterday and charged it overnight (approx 12 hours). There were no manuals or directions provided but since it is a standard Li-ion battery, I'm assuming it needs to be charged fully before use even though there was enough power to start my laptop. Upon unplugging after charging, I got a 99% battery life remaining. I've used the laptop for basic browsing, iTunes to download a couple of songs, and about an hour of You Tube video browsing. The rest was just the laptop being on standby. I got about 3.5 hours total until I got to about 6% when the laptop shutoff by itself. I charged it again until it was full at 100% and that took about 2 hours. I was a bit skeptical since there were a number of negative reviews about this product and I bought it because of the price and since the price of an OEM Apple battery is over $100. Hopefully this one last since my original battery last me at least 4 years. I bought my Macbook in November of 2008.

Doesn't Work

Posted by: Bt1167 from Gainesville, GA on 01/19/2012This product is only a space-filler for a battery. Third-party batteries consistently don't "sync" with Macs. When the battery is first put into the computer, it works just fine. But once you close the laptop or shut down the computer, the computer no longer recognizes that the battery exists. So you have to take the battery out and put it back in every time you want to use your laptop as a laptop, not just a plugged-in desktop. It is simply not a good idea to use third-party batteries for Macs.

Not a good purchase

Posted by: dlVT from Vermont on 01/11/2012This battery often does not work. The Mac will often show it as no battery and of course not charge it . At times it works but you can't count on it. I am disappointed. I purposely bought from Best Buy assuming they check their products out. It took a bit for the problem to fully show up. I am hoping I can still return it.

Not Good

Posted by: Snydly from Los Angeles on 01/10/2012The battery would not make good contact with the metal terminals on the computer. I had to keep taking the battery out and putting it back in to make good contact and get power. Then I would lose power a day later and have to do it all over again.

Then my macbook gave the message saying that I needed to service the battery. Needless to say I am returning it to the local best buy for credit. I think now it is best to pay the extra and get a genuine apple product.

Great battery for the price

Posted by: dudeitsjoey from Miami, FL on 10/17/2011I got this battery because my white macbook 13 in battery was fried. I got this one and left it charging overnight before use. I let it charge 100%. Once the charging light turned green i unplugged it. I used it the next morning and the battery was at 99%. the battery lasts about a little over 3 hours for non stop use. I think it was pretty good. I am very happy with the purchase of it. It fit perfectly and went in without a problem. I would definitely recommend buying this battery.

Decent replacement, but not a match

Posted by: provopike from Provo, UT on 02/05/2011This battery is not quite as expensive as the apple battery, but pay the extra and get the right battery from apple. This battery didn't go in easily, and doesn't fit flush. It never registers a 100% charge.
