Works well. Lots of tips!

Posted by: Writer1 from on 11/20/2014I've only used this once, but right out of the box, it had more than 1/2 charge so I tried it right out, and it worked great. It has tips for both my Acer One notebook and my Toshiba Satellites. I'm very happy with it so far. The only downsides are the weight-it took a very long time to fully charge (I had to leave it overnight) and it weighs as much as my Acer One (without battery attached) but I can deal with that.

LENMAR LAPTOP POWERPORT: BASIC BUT ESSENTIAL

I HAD SO MANY ODD AND FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCES, WITH TOSHIBA'S MISERABLY INEPT TECH-SUPPORT, EVEN WITH MORE THAN A FEW SALES AGENTS WHO HAD EITHER NO KNOWLEDGE OR DEFINITE INTENTIONS TO MISGUIDE ME WITH REGARD TO SUCH A PRODUCT OR LEAD ME IN THE MOST ABSURDLY IMPROPER DIRECTIONS. I HAD NEARLY GIVEN UP ON FINDING A SUITABLE PRODUCT. THIS ACCESSORY, WHICH I KNEW I WANTED AND NEEDED, SOME GOOD FRIENDS ASSURED ME IS AVAILABLE, PLUS MY OWN SENSE TOLD ME TO REMAIN PERSISTENT. ALAS, MY QUEST FOR PORTABLE POWER HAD FINALLY REACHED A POINT OF SUCCESS. I'VE LEARNED FROM EXPERIENCES TO REMAIN PERSISTENT IN MORE COMPLICATED SITUATIONS, AND THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AT ALL AS FRUSTRATING AS IT HAD BEEN FOR A FEW MONTHS. NEVERTHELESS, I CERTAINLY DON'T TAKE FOR GRANTED THE SUPERIOR CALIBER OF ONE EXCEPTIONALLY HELPFUL AND RATHER KNOWLEDGEABLE SALESMAN, A GENTLEMAN WHO WILLINGLY AND GENEROUSLY LENT OF HIMSELF TO RESEARCH AND EXPLAIN AND ASSIST IN LOCATING PRECISELY WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST AND MOST APPROPRIATE OPTION TO MEET MY REQUIREMENTS. IN FACT, THIS FINE GENTLEMAN OF BEST BUY'S COMPUTER SALES TEAM WAS SO UNIQUELY HELPFUL THAT, REGRETTABLY, ALLOTTED TIME IN MY OWN SCHEDULE BECAME EXHAUSTED AND HE DIDN'T GET TO FINALIZE THE ACTUAL ORDER. WELL, ALL IN ALL, IN RELATIVELY LITTLE ADDITIONAL TIME, ONCE HE LED ME TO THE RIGHT PRODUCT, I PLACED MY ORDER, AND THRU AN EXCELLENT MARKETPLACE AFFILIATE, MY "POWERPORT" WAS SPECIAL DELIVERED TO ME AND IN USE. THIS, I RECOGNIZE, IS QUITE A LENGTHILY DETAILED STORY IN PERTINENCE TO WHAT I'D HAVE, ORDINARILY, CONSIDERED TO BE QUITE A SIMPLE ISSUE. ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL, AS THE POPULAR SAYING GOES, AND INDEED THIS STORY HAS A VERY HAPPY ENDING. LENMAR MANUFACTURES THIS PORTABLE POWER DEVICE PRIMARILY FOR THE BASIC PURPOSE OF OFFERING A CHARGE ON THE GO, OR LET'S SAY, AS AN EXAMPLE, DURING A POWER OUTAGE, FOR MOST LAPTOP MODELS. MOST LAPTOP MODELS HAVE SHORT-LIVED BATTERY POWER RESERVES PER-CHARGE, SO THIS IS UNEQUIVOCALLY AN ESSENTIALLY USEFUL ACCESSORY. WHATSMORE, CONTAINED WITHIN THE PACKAGING IS AN ASSORTMENT OF ADAPTER PLUGS TO SURELY FIT NEARLY ANY LAPTOP. THE "POWERPORT", ONCE YOU'VE FED IT WITH AN ADEQUATE AC CHARGE, IS CAPABLE OF POWERING YOUR LAPTOP THRU ONE CABLE, WHILE ALLOWING CHARGES OF CELL PHONES, JETPACKS, OR OTHER DEVICES VIA ITS USB PORT, AND MUCH MORE. IT IS SURELY NOT A FANCILY STYLED UNIT, AND GENERALLY APPEARS AS A PLAIN, BLACK SLAB OF METAL,THOUGH THE NO-FRILLS DESIGN IS APPROPRIATELY FITTING TO ITS BASIC PURPOSE. ADMITTEDLY, IN LIEU OF ITS SIMPLE PURPOSE, DESIGN, AND SMALL, FLAT DESIGN, AND IT'S ALSO NOT THE MOST POWERFUL BATTERY CHARGER, IT IS A BIT WEIGHTY; THOUGH THAT'S A FACT YOU'LL EASILY BECOME ACCUSTOMED TO. AND, AGAIN, IT'S POSITIVELY MORE USEFUL THAN FOR, AS IS INDICATED, ONLY LAPTOPS. HOWEVER, PORTABLE POWER AND CHARGING IS SPECIFICALLY MY PURPOSE FOR IT. THE LENMAR "POWERPORT" IS PERFECT, AT A GOOD PRICE, AND I AM TRULY PLEASED.

Very decent product

Now I dont have these mearly for play only, I am sales engineer for a software company and I use these for business as well. Which means, if it doesnt have a decent battery life to begin with, why bother. Now onto this product, if you travel alot, or have client meetings, what is the worst thing......? your device dieing. This can fully recharge my phone, IPad2, and give me just enough battery on my Dell Precision 17" laptop to finish a presentation. It is small compared to others I have seen and very easy to use.

Love it!!

Posted by: from Brick, NJ on 06/13/2012I've been looking for something to charge my iphone while on vacation. I use my phone much more while away and the battery would be gone by the afternoon. I've tried some of the smaller mobile chargers but it wouldn't even give my phone a full charge. I have charged my phone with this four time already and it still the unit has a full charge. One of the best things I bought as an accessory for my I devises.

Nice for the price

Posted by: DonovanS_BBYStaff86 from Racine, WI on 03/20/2012Worked out of the box, already half charged, and legitimatly gave my 14" laptop an extra 3 - 4 hrs. of use. Only powered my huge 17" gaming laptop for about another hour though, but thats kind of expected. One word of warning, the battery pack only came with the adaptors for full size laptops; so this did not work with my netbook. Other than that, pretty cool.
