Bad from stock, had to RMA

Posted by: Tato1 from Springfield, MO on 10/28/2014When I first installed it, I thought my laptop had a bad SATA connection, as it would not recognize on port 0, but seemed to work w/o issues on port 1 (although UEFI said it was on port 4 for some reason). After about a month of use, it became truly a pain, it would hang at boot for about 20 min unless laptop was powered off while on the hung boot, then it booted in about 20 seconds. Luckily, the RMA process was not too horrible, they had no stock on my 120GB XLR8 so they had to upgrade me to the Optima line (would have liked it too if they had gone with the 240GB on the XLR8 line) and have had no problems since I received the replacement product. It was a case of a bad product backed up by a decent company that does what it has to in order to keep their customer satisfied (like many others should, and one of the reasons I picked PNY). The RMA did, however, take a little over 2 weeks for the round trip which, in my opinion, was entirely too long to go without my PC, but well worth the wait, since the replacement product works without any issues -- and on SATA port 0 too! The original product would receive a 1 star, and the replacement gets 5 stars; averaging a 3, which is the rating given. Thank you, PNY for making it right.

This drive is a disgrace to SSD'S - Seriously.....

The OS loading times are disgraceful it takes well over 40 seconds from restart to desktop and here are my specs. Intel Core i7-4930K @ 3.4GHZ ASUS X99 Mobo 64GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR4 2400 EVGA GTX 760 4GB Samsung EVO 840 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tell me how in the hell is that drive that slow with that setup. I rest my case I whould have bought another EVO.... PNY is garbage

Excellent Hardware, Big Improvement

Great for PC or Laptop

Posted by: zelio from Vancouver, WA on 06/13/2014I don't know why it says for laptop when it works perfectly fine on pc. That's what I installed it in. There was no software to do an image copy of the OS drive, but you can find a good free one online. Now my pc boots up and loads the startup programs in under 30 seconds. It use to take like almost 5 minutes to finish with all the startup programs on a normal disk drive.

An inexpensive speed boost to your pc

Posted by: abrahamms from Laredo, TX on 05/24/2014This SSD gave my laptop a great boost in performance specially when booting or loading software. The boot time went from 1 minute to 10 seconds. Some other processes remain the same but it is an excellent way to gain speed when booting. Also if you swap your hard drive for the SSD you will eliminate the noise. The installation is the same as any hard drive. The SSD has the form factor of a SATA 2.5 inch hard drive so it is very compatible. It can also be installed on the desktop. The storage might be limited, but it serves great as the main operating system drive.
