Top of the line ssd. Very competitive price.

Top notch sad drive for the money

After tons of research and product reviews I came to the conclusion that the 850 evo 500gb from samsung was going to be my choice. Speed, read/ write and performance combined with price nothing can touch it.

Excellent upgrade for any laptop with a SATA HD.

My laptop boots up so fast using fast startup or when using a full startup. It is worth every penny and I would recommend this drive to any with a slow Hard drive in there PC.

Posted by: dcubed from on 09/26/2015The disk was purchased to replace an internal desktop drive. Performance is much faster. The disk works best with SATA 3. I have a SATA 2 motherboard. The provided installation software works under two conditions: you have a simple disk (convert from dynamic) and the source disk is smaller than the destination. I needed to shrink my source file-system using the same software used to convert from dynamic to simple/basic disk.

Nice drive but....

Posted by: Laptop4u from on 09/25/2015I bought this drive based on a recommendation from a family member who does IT support. The first issue I encountered on my Win 10 laptop was the drive would connect and disconnect every 60 seconds. I overcame that by turning off the power savings. The second issue was the included software does not support Win 10. I am still researching software to clone my existing drive and will update this review after I get to the promised land.

Best 500GB SSD for MacBook Pro

Posted by: StevenW from on 09/24/2015Shipped fast by Best Buy. This Samsung EVO 850 replaced the original 128GB SSD in MacBook Pro 13-inch. Great Performance since I ran multiple Virtual Machines under VMware Fusion and VirtualBox.
