The Senkatel Education Chromebook (Model C1101-2G and C1101-4G) builds on the popularity of consumer-grade Chromebooks with unique features that are critical to today's classroom environment. The purpose-built, commercial-grade device integrates a water-resistant, ergonomic keyboard with anti-peel keys and a touchpad that channel liquids away from the electronics to prevent damage.
The Senkatel Education Chromebook has a ruggedized design capable of withstanding bumps and drops up to 70cm. Extra reinforcement has also been applied around all hinges and ports, including its full HDMI port, 1 x USB 3.0 and 1 x USB 2.0 port, and its Kensington security lock slot. When not in use, an integrated carry handle allows students to attach the device to their backpack, or hang it in their storage locker rather than vertically stacking heavy items on it.
The Senkatel Education Chromebook features an anti-glare, 11.6-inch high-definition 1366 x 768 LCD screen with In-Plane Switching (IPS™) - a wide-viewing angle technology that maintains clear color reproduction even at off-axis viewing conditions with no color shift. In the event of accidental damage, the Senkatel Education Chromebook's display may be replaced at a fraction of the cost of some consumer-grade Chromebooks. A 3-cell, 3200mAh/cell (36Wh) battery operates up to 9.5-hours on a single charge and it is serviceable by the school's IT staff.
The Senkatel Education Chromebook model C1101-2G is powered by an Intel® Celeron® N2830 processor operating at 2.41 GHz with 1MB cache memory, and includes 2GB of SDRAM system memory with a 16GB solid state drive. An optional upgraded Senkatel Education Chromebook model C1101-4G is powered by an Intel® Celeron® N2930 processor operating at 2.16 GHz with 2MB cache memory, and includes 4GB of SDRAM system memory with a 16GB solid state drive.
The Senkatel Education Chromebook comes with an additional 100GB of Google Drive™ cloud-based storage at no extra charge for the first 2-years. Connectivity features include Bluetooth® 4.0 and 2x2 dual-band Wi-Fi IEEE802.11 ac/a/b/g/n operating in both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. The addition of the IEEE802.11ac band promotes throughput up to 3X that of consumer grade Chromebooks using the IEEE802.11a/b/g/n standard. The rotatable camera and microphone can be angled to capture images, video and support scientific inquiry. A fan-less design eliminates distracting noise.
