1986 Mustang GT w/ 351W and LOTS of extras - $4000

1986 Ford Mustang GT odometer: 155000 paint color : white transmission : manual title status : clean

Price Reduced--Need to sell before winter!

There are 2 kinds of people who would want this car. Either 1) you want a FAST 1986 GT that you can do some paint/body work on,or 2) you have a Fox-body already that you want to make faster. Otherwise, this is not the car you're looking for. The new stuff has around 3-5K miles on it,odometer not from same car.

Motor:5.8L/351W. <3k on it. 0.030 bored,so it ends up around 357ci. Roller timing chain, twinned roller lifters, rumbly cam,1.8 roller rockers in TFS heads. No smog,no A/C,no heater.

Air in:K&N in fender well;73mm (+/-) MAF;70mm TB and EGR;GT-40 upper and lower.
Juice: Hi-flow Fuel pump,30-lb FI's w/ adjustable FP regulator.
Sparks/electronics:MAF converted;R-code EEC,Accel ignition and coil
Exhaust: Hi-flow headers and exhaust,no cat's.
Cooling:Aluminum radiator,hi-flow waterpump,oil cooler.
HP and torque #'s: Unknown. PLENTY of both.

Transmission, etc:Cobra clutch. Stock T-5. Short-throw shifter. New axles,3.83 gears. New axles and bearings.

Brakes:91 spindles, new bearings. Rear disc conversion. Drilled/slotted rotors all around.

Suspension: Beefier front sway bar,new bushings. Lowered springs,KYB shocks. Adjustable caster/camber plate. Subframe connectors. Solid rear control arms. Torquebox reinforcement. Panhard bar. Rollcage that is not race-legal but ties sides, front and rear to solidify everything. Front strut tower brace (not installed but is 351-specific).

Weight loss: Fiberglass Cervini hood, fiberglass hatch.

Interior: Average condition but who cares?

Exterior: UGLY and not getting any prettier as time goes by. Needs COMPLETE sand-down and repaint. Paint don't make it any faster or safer,so low priority. I have a Saleen ground effects kit that may or may not go with car.

"Issues": Has had a few electrical problems since I got it,most due to grounding challenges. With new battery,low-torque starter and high-output alternator, most of this has been fixed. No guarantees on this,however--the wires are almost 30 years old, after all.

Misc:Tires are fine,stock rims,blah blah blah.

Bottom line:WAY more power than you need from this powerplant, body as solid as it can get. Not intended as daily driver unless you fry rice and humiliate Camaros on a daily basis. Huge potential for straight-line flying or corner-carving madness.

Life and the wife have other plans for me,so my baby has to leave me. When I say SERIOUS inquiries only,I mean it. Stupid/picky questions will go unanswered. There will be no joy rides,no BS on my or your part. It is what it is--a fast, solid performer waiting for a new rider. Put some effort into the bodywork or transplant the hi-performance goodies into a decent-looking Fox body and you'll have a winner.
