In 1977, VW issued one "Champagne Edition" convertible to each US dealership, also known as a "Special US Sales Campaign". This was essentially a "Triple White" convertible, interior, exterior and top, as well as faux burled elm dash inserts and Opal colored vinyl seat (ribbon weave) and door panel coverings. Approximately 1000 were sold in the US. I am the second owner, and have the original dealer sticker. This car has always been garaged, and well maintained. 49,300 miles. 4 cyl 1.6 liter fuel injected engine. No accidents. New fuel pump just installed this summer.
