About Saab
Some car companies can be described as mainstream or luxurious, but when it comes to Saab, the most applicable term would be quirky. Maybe it's the brand's Swedish heritage, perhaps the whole "Born From Jets" theme set it apart, or more than likely, Saab stands alone because of features like swiveling air vents and an ignition placed between the front seats.

The quirkiness has been diluted under the ownership of General Motors, but efforts have been made to maintain the brand's individuality, if only in appearance. The Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan shares its architecture with cars such as the Chevrolet Malibu. The Saab 9-3 SportCombi is essentially a wagon variant of the brand's entry-level sedan; the Saab 9-3 Convertible rounds out the model's lineup. Buyers drawn to the look and feel of the 9-3 who want a bit more vehicle should check out the Saab 9-5, available as the Saab 9-5 Sedan and Saab 9-5 SportCombi.

In an effort to broaden the brand's lineup, General Motors added a couple of new vehicles over the past several years. The 9-2X, based on the five-door Subaru Impreza, was sold for a few years before being discontinued, whereas the Chevrolet Trailblazer-based Saab 9-7X SUV continues to be sold with V6 and V8 engine options.
