This is the fifth and least of the Die Hard movies.
Richard Roeper
What a disappointment.
David Edelstein
I didn't think it was physically possible to doze off at a movie as loud as A Good Day to Die Hard, but for a few moments my mind found some distant, peaceful refuge.
Chris Vognar
It's all more than a little silly, but Willis' presence at least provides undercurrents of easy jocularity.
Joe Morgenstern
For anyone who remembers the "Die Hard" adventures at their vital and exciting best, this film feels like a near-death experience.
Dana Stevens
Few fans of the series would disagree that this sclerotic fifth installment should probably be the last.

This is the Magpie School of action filmmaking: Anytime things start to make so little sense that you might lose the audience, just throw something shiny up on screen to distract.

This was trash. Worst movie in the series. Didn't feel like John McClaine, and was just a bunch of talking heads. Stunts I've seen before, John was an emotional wuss for most of the movie; it really didn't feel like his character at all, and they gave some random crappy spinoff action hero his taglines. The previous Die Hard was incredibly better, and if this movie doesn't kill the franchise then they should bring back those people.
A Good Day to Fall Hard When I heard Die Hard 5 was in development, I was happier than a teenager viewing a XXX website. I heard that Noam Murro was picked to helm and was like, the guy who directed Smart People doing an action flick? Ok, it was like when they picked Sam Mendes to direct SkyFall, worried then surprised. Then it got Skip Woods to write, which was a bit unnerving because he did write Hitman (A decent but nonetheless inert VG adaptation) but then again he wrote The A-Team which restored my confidence. It seemed to fall into place until Murro left and John Moore came in to helm. I again became heavily worried since he directed 2 poor remakes, a decent action film (Behind Enemy Lines) and Max Payne. "Couldn't they have gotten Joe Carnahan or Len Wiseman to helm?!" I cried, but I still believed that since it was Die Hard, it would be awesome. Teasers came, was surprised it looked awesome. Trailer came and became even more excited. I began to love A Good Die to Die Hard before I even seen it. The Valentines Day debut seemed perfect as a great love letter to action films and was eager to see it. Then reviews poured in, negatives from every which way. Bought it and was disappointed but not awful.

3rd best movie of the series I love this movie. I thought the directing was really well done, some of the best in the series. I also thought the story was a little off, but not terrible. Bruce Willis was still great and I love Jai Courtney. He was great as the son and they had great chemistry. I wish they had a better villain like Hans Gruber, that was the only flaw of the movie for me. I really don't know why people hate this movie, it is different than the others, but the action is awesome and this is my 3rd favorite besides 1 and 3

Garbage Utter garbage. The entire pretence of the movie is flawed at a fundamental level.really enjoyed the others but had to force myself not to hit the delete button after 20 minutes. Even the acting from bruce himself is lacklustre and appears almost embarrased to be playing the role. Dont watch if you enjoyed the earlier movies. This will leave a very bad taste indeed. AVOID.

A Bad Day for Die Hard I love the first four Die Hards...this one is just bad. As a stand alone or as part of the series. The first few were gritty and balanced whit. The characters were fun and easy to relate to while meshing well with our "in the wrong place at the right time" hero John. Who had a reluctant but persistent drive to do the right thing. Was totally fun to watch. The current installment seems to have been written and directed by the same people responsible for the Expendables and their nonsense.
Brought to you by Mercedes Benz Well, what can I say, this is the worst "Die Hard" movie ever, in fact, all the previous movies rocked, but this one is just plain piece of crap. Why? First of all, the plot - it sucks, I won't put any spoilers here, but it lacks logic and most of all "the magic" of McClaine. Somehow the movie reminded me a little bit of "Team America". Then the Benz product placement - like every 5 minutes, guys, wtf? But still, the movie has some funny minutes, thus the 3 stars.

A Good Day to Suck Fan of the original franchise, even the fourth installment although arguably the worst of the originals, but I don't know what this last one was supposed to be. About a million "Are you kidding me?!" moments and "Isn't there harmful/deadful radiation at Chernobyl?"Long story short this is the Indian Jones 4 of the Die Hard series which is hard to say since I argue there was no Indian Jones 4 but some sort of Ford, Lucas, Spielberg abomination.
