Peter Travers
Russell Crowe has many talents, but a gift for light comedy is not one of them.
Richard Roeper
There are some pretty funny things in there.
Peter Howell
Crowe, a superb dramatic actor, is congenitally incapable of humour, especially when he tries slapstick.
Moira MacDonald
On a rainy day, A Good Year may be welcome fantasy; the question is whether anyone will remember it after the clouds have parted.
Peter Hartlaub
Despite some stunning visuals and a lot of nice moments, the finished product feels like the work of an actor and director who are out of their element.
Carrie Rickey
The overall effect is one of a sumptuously laid table where the main course is overcooked.

A Good Year is like a promising wine that's a bit new to the bottle. It goes down rough, but there's this marvelous aftertaste on the palate.

One of my favorites This is one of my favorite movies, not in the oscar-winning greatest movie ever senses, but as a reliable source of entertainment that can be put on at any time and enjoyed. Lovely scenery, attractive people, and never the urge to wallow in the emotional state. The book was strange and kind of terrible: Oddly paced, oddly toned. The movie is nothing like it. This is a getaway movie. Treat it as such, and enjoy.

Gregory Peck won an Oscar for his brilliant performance as the Southern lawyer who defends a black man accused of rape in this film version of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. The way in which it captures a time, a place, and above all, a mood, makes this film a masterpiece. The setting is a dusty Southern town during the Depression. A white woman accuses a black man of rape. Though he is obviously innocent, the outcome of his trial is such a foregone conclusion that no lawyer will step forward to defend him except Atticus Finch (Gregory Peck), the town's most distinguished citizen. His compassionate defense costs him many friendships but earns him the respect and admiration of his two motherless children.
Rear Window

None of Hitchcock's films has ever given a clearer view of his genius for suspense than Rear Window. When professional photographer L.B. When he suspects a salesman may have murdered his nagging wife, Jeffries enlists the help of his glamorous socialite girlfriend (Grace Kelly) to investigate the highly suspicious chain of events... Events that ultimately lead to one of the most memorable and gripping endings in all of film history.

The Italian Job (2003)
The plan was flawless. The execution was perfect. Charlie Croker pulled off the crime of a lifetime. The one thing that he didn't plan on was being double-crossed. Now he wants more than the job's payoff...he wants payback. Mark Wahlberg is electrifying as Croker in this "fast and furious action-adventure."* Along with a drop-dead gorgeous safecracker (Charlize Theron), Croker and his team take off to re-steal the loot and end up in a pulse-pounding, pedal-to-the-metal chase that careens up, down, above and below the streets of Los Angeles.
