Bill Goodykoontz
Of course, von Trier wants us to react, to be repulsed, shocked, offended. Mission accomplished.
Rene Rodriguez
Von Trier, never exactly an optimist, has never been this gloomy and pessimistic. Antichrist is the feel-bad movie of the year.
Christopher Kelly
Antichrist is a unique form of cruel and unusual punishment: an unrelenting orgy of graphic sex, violence and cynicism that also manages to be wildly pretentious.
Noel Murray
Antichrist is a boldly personal film, tossing all von Trier's ideas about faith, fear, and human nature into an unfettered phantasmagoria, full of repulsive visions and fierce scorn.
Tom Long
Self-loathing, mean, ugly and perfectly made, Antichrist is probably the best film ever that you'd recommend to absolutely no one.
Peter Howell
Antichrist ends up being more unnerving than it is terrifying, and a lot funnier than it's supposed to be.

Well, its got epic atmosphere Music and cinematography were incredible, but I wasn't even offended or impressed as I expected to be. The sex was tasteful not porno; however I never like torture scenes in any format (but it is a horror movie, come on). It's too pseudo intellectual to be a 5, an anti religious film that still promotes the Nietzchean idea of women as chaotic evil? God I hate Nietzsche. Maybe She was just fed up that He was such an emotionally unavailable patronizing robot.

Artistic and thoughtful Definitely not a film for the weak of heart, Antichrist is a stark look at misogyny. Arguably the most artistic and symbolic exploitation film out there, one never quite figures out what precisely ha happened in the film. Dafoe and Gainsbourg offer spectacular performances. Worth watching twice, should you have an iron stomach.

Most Horrific Film Ever This film really deserves a 6 star horror rating. I couldn't even finish it & I've managed to watch 'Irreversible' and 'Cannibal Holocaust'. This film goes way beyond that horror. Lars von Trier is a modern day Edgar Allen Poe with a camera. This film is the dream of a snail crawling across a razor blade. You have been warned.

They skip school together, talk about love, religion and politics and dream of lives bigger than their mothers' domesticity. But the growing threat of nuclear war casts a shadow over their lives. Ginger (Elle Fanning) is drawn to poetry and protest, while Rosa (Alice Englert) shows Ginger how to smoke cigarettes, kiss boys and pray. Both rebel against their mothers (Jodhi May and Christina Hendricks). Meanwhile, Ginger's pacifist father, Roland (Alessandro Nivola) seems a romantic, bohemian figure to the girls. He encourages Ginger's 'Ban-the-Bomb' activism, while Rosa starts to take a very different interest in him. As Ginger's parents fight and fall apart, Ginger finds emotional sanctuary with a gay couple, both named Mark (Timothy Spall and Oliver Platt), and their American friend, the poet Bella (Annette Bening). Finally, as the Cuban Missile Crisis escalates -- and it seems the world itself may come to an end -- the lifelong friendship of the two girls is shattered.
