Rafer Guzman
The main problem is that Merida craves adventure but Brave limits her to mother-daughter psychodrama.
Richard Corliss
By the climax, at which all right-thinking viewers will have dissolved in a puddle of warm appreciation, the new Pixar film has earned two cheers and a big bear hug.
Ben Sachs
The story for this revisionist fairy tale, which promotes contemporary attitudes about parenting and gender equality, is less inspired than usual for Pixar, but the movie upholds the studio's high standard of computer animation.
Trevor Johnston
No, not another Pixar classic, but for full-on family fun it's a brave effort.
Bruce Diones
The story, with its patchwork of plots (involving feuding clans and disastrous spells), holds together enough to thrill intermittently.
Christopher Orr
Though it falls short of the studio's best in many respects, Brave is ravishing to look at. Merida's carrot corona is alone worth the price of admission.

James Berardinelli
The tone is uneven and more often morose than joyful. The pacing is slow and at times almost tedious. The end result is something that feels like it was put together from a jumble of Disney clichés tacked onto the skeleton of Beauty and the Beast.

Great movie! Love the show! Its fantastic for family. Though I disapproved of some of the rebellious behavior in the movie. Another thing I disliked was how they made the girl more intelligent than her parents. Don't let me be a debi downer though. Its a good movie!

Brave does not mean what you think it means. I am not up to date on the latest movies, but I finally got to watch this movie after 2 years of its release. I heard about this movie with the strong lead female character. "Brave" is the title because that is what all the characters boast about. from the father, daughter, all the kings and soldiers in the movie, when their bravery is really pride. This movie is about recognizing pride and not letting it get in the way of the things that truly matter or you can drive yourself to ruin trying to prove you are brave all the time.

Great family entertainment We took my 3 yr old daughter to see this in the theater. While the moral of the story was great and one not often touched on by kids movies today, there were some parts that were a bit dark. My daughter loved it but was a bit frightened by the dark parts. It's fine to show a youngster just make sure to do so well in advance of bedtime.
Charming This film was a charming little thing, touching and funny, and really, really cute. Recommended to anyone with a sense of humor or adventure.

Very good Brave movie The first time I watched this movie I laughed, and then cried. It was very touching to see family stick together. Even though they had their ups and downs, it's like what a real family would go through. I give this four stars. People are fickle how can any say it was bad? But to each his own.
It's a film for children and the young at heart! Who ever said the movie is babyish, wth! It's a Disney movie meant for children, I myself didn't see anything babyish about it. The movie was funny and up beat, there were times when it dragged but once it got back on track it was funny. I loved it in the movies and I'm loving this movie at home as well. Everyone in my house likes this movie also, This a must have for the Disney fan!
BRAVE IS BRILLIANT! Brilliant, funny, sweet, very memorable, love the message it sends too. A definite must see and own! Perfect for the whole family. Love Merida, and the triplets. Billy Connelly is his usual hilarious self.

wonderful! my daughter, at 16months, absolutely loves this movie. she gets so excited when i ask her if she wants to watch it. there are also many parts in the movie that she just loves to laugh at. it really is fun to watch with her. and i must say that I've noticed a lot of negative reviews saying it is boring... we must not have watched the same movie. The Brave iwatched is action packed with a wonderful deep message... if you're able to understand the subtleties of it... i guess some people can't.
Terrible Worst movie ever trust me there's no story line here I'm going to tell you excatly what its about. Its about a girl with red hair who whines and pouts about her life then she and evil witch make a deal turning her mother into a bear. This is not a kids movie biggest mistake I've ever made was buying this and them creating it.
Be Brave and buy this amazing movie! A sheer masterpiece. Beautiful! Very Enjoyable. Such a wonderful story that emphasizes on a mother and daughter relationship. Wonderfully written. My daughter loves this movie. I love this movie. Highly recommended!! :)

Main Character is a Terrible Role Model I cannot believe this is a childrens movie. Merida is selfish, defiant, and whines about her circumstances in a manner that makes it difficult to believe she's a princess or any young lady of high society. She's supposedly of marrying age and yet she can't civilly discuss with her mother, someone who's been in the same situation, how she feels that an arranged marriage is unfair. In front of her mother, she maliciously slashes the family tapestry (with a portrait of her parents, brothers and her sewn on it) which her mother handmade. She seeks the help of a witch to change her mother in some way and ends up turning her own mother into a bear. In the description, it says that she has to "undo a beastly curse". Yes, the curse that was cast by Merida. She wasn't even tricked into it! It takes her the whole movie to apologize and tell her mom she loves her but it's only when things look the bleakest. There are no circumstances for any of her actions and she ends up getting her way for the time being.
Good but did not live up to its name The good~ It's something that you can sit your kid down and they'll enjoy it! I loved how it was different from other pixar movies and how it was in a different time period. It has a very strong lead character The bad~ Ok Soo.. The bad is it fell short of it's title even though they had a good base for their main character she never really did anything that would really be considered 'Brave'.
Breathtaking My favorite pixar movie ever, the scenery was beautiful, the plot was amazing, and it had just the right amount of comedy, action, drama, and adventure. And the best part about it is that the people who worked on the movie went to Scotland for inspiration. And finally, whoever thinks this movie sucks, why waste your time trolling us that? Perfect movie 5 stars
Wonderful Pixar Movie Brave has all the good elements of being a wonderful pixar movie. it has the plot development, plot twist, moral dilemmas, good vs evil, and key messages. I think all kids can learn something from this movie. watch it the kids if you can, it'll make you hold your children the whole time. the only thing i wasn't too keen on was the length of the plot development till the climax... nonetheless, it was enjoyable

Definitely A Different Movie I think my mama and I could have been the inspiration for this movie lol. Fortunately there's real life magic that happens called "college" that allowed us to mend our tapestry too. This isn't the typical damsel in distress Disney movie but the msg I got wasn't all pro feminism either. It was more like girls can, and like, doing things boys do too and altho nice, we don't always need rescuing. Young kids may not enjoy it bc there are a couple of parts that may be too scary but i think others will enjoy it.
Title doesnt fit The movie is ok animations great but wat part of the title makes since.. She is brave... Good great but no kid is gonna understand wat she was having to be brave about.. Its meant for kids but it was written im almost more of an adult situational style.. Not a great movie at all.. Trailer very misleading.. Dont waste money downloading just rent it first.. Then buy it if ur really that interested
