Bully is less a checklist plan for eliminating abusive behavior than an emotionally powerful wake-up call for a society too long in denial.
Lisa Kennedy
Bully" is smart and compassionate about the pain of its wounded subjects and the frustration felt by their parents, seemingly abandoned by the system. What the powerful film lacks is insight into...
J. R. Jones
Hirsch seldom gets face time with any bullies or their parents, and he tends to ignore the complicated social and psychological patterns that feed the problem.
Connie Ogle
For a film that understandably only scratches the surface of its topic, Bully carries a devastating emotional punch.
Tom Long
It would have been nice if the film had reflected its title a bit more and looked at the bullies themselves - what drives one kid to torture another? Is it a reaction to home life, is it fear, is...
Joe Williams
"Bully" is a good start to a necessary conversation, but its loving voice is likely to be drowned out by haters who hide their own wounded hearts behind Internet pseudonyms and broadcast microphones.

Great Visual Aid This movie displays what kids and teenagers endure in everyday life and how much damage it causes. We need to be aware of these things and try to stop them, and this was a firsthand documentary that makes us realize what people go through and what we can do to prevent it. Excellent movie. Definitely a must-see.
Absolutely Excellent! This Movie is absolutely Worth Paying For! Being Only 17 Years old and still Experiencing High School is such a Hard Thing. Everyday Walking through the halls is like competing against each other trying to look better. This Movie should be Watched by Every Single Parent! & Shown in schools. It speaks Truth and the HeartAche that these Kids and parents have to deal with on a daily Basis. I Completely Recommend this Movie to Friends, Family, & Stangers! You will NOT be Dissapointed!

EVERY PARENT, TEACHER, SCHOOL RELATED JOB & CHILD SHOULD WATCH THIS!!! I think 2 have a school job or attend school u should b EXPECTED 2 watch this. Like CPR, FIRST AID, SEXUAL HARASSMENT, TEXTING & DRIVING & DARE VIDEOS. I think it's such a truthful, moving documentary & that if every kid who watched was expected to write up a plan(the older the kid the more in-depth plan) of how to solve or help the problem. Maybe each school could take the top 3 ideas & enter them in a statewide contest & those winners could go onto represent that state & they could meet the President.

In intimate conversations with those involved, including 28-year-old death row inmate Michael Perry (scheduled to die within eight days of appearing on-screen), Herzog achieves what he describes as "a gaze into the abyss of the human soul." Herzog's inquiries also extend to the families of the victims and perpetrators as well as a state executioner and pastor who've been with death row prisoners as they've taken their final breaths. As he's so often done before, Herzog's investigation unveils layers of humanity, making an enlightening trip out of ominous territory.
