Lisa Kennedy
Jordan is no stranger to the yearnings of vampires. He directed Interview With the Vampire. But Byzantium is a kinder, gentler yet pretty durn bloody affair.
Tom Long
Go ahead, bite.
Liam Lacey
A drama that feels both strenuously earnest and impossible to take seriously.
Michael O'Sullivan
Byzantium has a few moves that might surprise you. They have nothing to do with blood, but everything to do with the heart.
Linda Barnard
A confusing yet eye-pleasing tale that struggles to breathe new life into the well-worn mythology.
Mick LaSalle
Neil Jordan's sensitive and very slow exploration of vampire angst. That the film also seems intended as some kind of vampire feminist statement makes it a rare combination of mildly boring and mildly hilarious.

The story drags a bit, bouncing back and forth in time in a manner that is sometimes useful, sometimes not. Overall, though, it's an intriguing addition to the genre.

Vampires Not your typical vampire movie I love how it wasnt a sappy love story but a movie about what a woman did for the love of her daughter. And how even a vampire mother can be over bearing and a little over protective. I like how these characters are so relate to able and you see yourself hoping they both live at the end.

Elsewhere in Europe, lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) organizes a group of Jewish American soldiers to perform swift, shocking acts of retribution. Employing pulp and propaganda in equal measure, Quentin Tarantino's INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS weaves together infamous, oppressed, real and larger-than-life the stories of WWII.

Ong Bak 2: The Beginning
Muay Thai martial arts master Tony Jaa returns to deliver a bone-breaking barrage of knees and elbows in this action opus that finds the star not only delivering blows in front of the camera, but calling the shots behind it as well. Despite the title's indication of this film as a sequel to 2003's Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior, this movie has no narrative connection to the events of the earlier work, despite the fact that both films star Jaa.
