Rips off Doc Hollywood, almost note for note.
Anthony Lane
Along came the interstate, apparently, and ruined everything. Just like that darned Internet, I guess, or that superhighway stuff, or those dumb movies they make with computers nowadays.
Mick LaSalle
Cars might get us into car world as a gimmick, but it doesn't get us into car world as a state of mind. Thus, the animation, rather than seeming like an expression of the movie's deeper truth, becomes an impediment to it.
Moira MacDonald
Though the central idea of nostalgia for a quieter, small-town life may well be lost on this movie's young audience -- Cars finds a pleasant and often sparkling groove.
Peter Howell
Cars made me want to hop in my jalopy and to head out to Route 66, bypassing the boring interstate highways that made the Mother Road redundant.
Roger Moore
It's beautiful to look at. The talking cars feel more alive than talking cars should.

Not a redneck? Skip it. Hey Pixar. You were the best movie studio around, for awhile. Please return to form. No more 'Larry the Cable Guy' fan movies please. You are better than this. Much much better. Leave Nascar to the dumb red states.
Great movie! More than half these reviewers are morons... This review is for he movie not Google! Why are people so stupid... I love the movie. Very well done and full of funny moments. Great job pixar.
No. The Pixar movies have fun plots, with unique versions of familiar stories. Cars is not one. The characters are cars solely for lame visual and verbal puns. There is no point to the characters being cars outside of that. This is a gimmick, plain and simple, because it makes no difference to the story.
Not Pixar's best, but solid. For anyone who loves the open spaces of America this is a great movie. The cars are mostly a metaphor (and a way to sell toys), the movie is about stopping and experiencing what's important.
A Very Cute And Kid Friendly Movie! =D This movie is wonderful for the kids! My nephews loved it and I quite enjoyed it myself! LOL. ;)
Awesome!!! Gr8 movie. Love it cuz keeps kids distracted!! LOL:)
Ignorance is bliss This movie is about racing. But that doesnt mean its a "dumb redneck" movie. Pretty sure people that have an intrest in cars in general love this movie. It not only reminds you of when you were a kid playing with cars but also a twist in the storyline from typical cartoon movies. I guess if people played with dolls more than cars I could understand the disgust of toy story losing its rank among kids movies for them.
Fabtastic!! :0 ) Love this movie!! My 3 yr old Is obsessed with cars!! He's autistic so it really helps keep him occupied when we're out to eat or at a store. HATED that I had to pay $14.99 to download when we already own the dvd, but he watches it so much it was worth it.
Awesome Movie! The animation, dialog, story and music makes this a fun movie to watch, surely not to be missed. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
Must see! One of the most original movies ever made. Voices are wonderful & from some of the top actors of today & yesterday. CARS has something for all ages & a deeper meaning about true friendship. PIXAR drove away with this one.
