Whatever your age, even if life is an ocean made up of many drops, you may resolve that life is too short for this errant nonsense.
Tom Huddleston
A film which piles on the action, the romance, the philosophical inquiry and the silly accents until the viewer is left punch-drunk and reeling. Seriously, what's not to love?
James Berardinelli
They key to successfully absorbing the movie may be in not trying to overthink what's on screen.
Christopher Orr
An eminently peculiar mismatch of substance and form, like a Hallmark card written by David Foster Wallace.
Peter Rainer
The result is maddening, exasperating, occasionally exhilarating -- and mostly boring.
Peter Travers
For all the spectacular settings and visionary designs, Cloud Atlas left me feeling disconnected

Rented it online-buying the movie Reviewers that give it a star are as close minded as a rock, the movie made an attempt to look at past and future events of human experiences. Since we all here at present time do not know exactly what happened in the past and especially what would happened in the future we can only imagine, the close minded have very short attention span that can only be attracted by quick responses and explosions, the Renaissance/enlightenment happened awhile ago and hope something similar is just over the event horizon

Wow I loved this movie. Yes, it was long but the story was so involving that I barely noticed. The story is so thought provoking and moving. There was also some fantastic acting. Each major actor played more than one role and it wasn't until the credits that I even noticed that certain actors were in certain parts because the costume was so well done and they were so into their characters. This isn't a movie for those who aren't willing to think and if you're looking for a simple plot, you won't find it here. Loved it!

Pulled together exquisitely The nature of historical events and Issues revolving perpetually with man as the focal point is repetitive , yes , BUT the way in which these have been brought together in on movie has NEVER EVER been accomplished. It is easy to criticize such a masterpiece when one is too lazy to see the greater task of logistics involved in such a production in telling of SIX story lines , it received bad reviews because of subject matter and did not appeal to the mainstream of audiences that need to be spoon fed .
This Movie... Freaking mind blowing and exciting. Had to watch this movie twice it was just "that" intense. Awesome cast, wonderful acting. Im actually happy I had a chance to see this movie, just sad that it took me so long to do so. All in all best movie of 2012 and so far 2013 nothing can compare.

Glorious A beautiful piece of cinematic mastery, beautiful depth and awe inspiring visuals, music that cuts straight into your core a very wonderful movie so many emotions conveyed throughout and so many different stories to tell to bring everything together. By far one of the most interesting movies I've ever seen.

There are two kinda of people that will like this movie...: The obnoxious people that like to say it is the best movie ever because they want to seem deep and intellectual, and people that can see the movie for what it actually is, and will like it, or they may also hate it... Fact, the movie IS long and confusing. It needs your complete attention or is a waste of time. That said, I quite enjoyed it, but you have to be in the right mood for a movie like this...

Beautiful movie This was a very beautiful movie, not a mind-blowing one, but heartwarming. The scenes are precisely crafted, the pictures are just fine work. It contains many feelings and drives you with them as if it's taking you by the hand. What I personally appreciated from the proposed topics include the fact that we live because of others and others help us to enjoy living, also the fact that every action, for simple that it might look, is as important as everything that composes our lives, also that our effects transcend our limitations, and finally that love is art indeed, beautiful and fulfilling, a topic that many other pieces have detailed, perhaps with an open view that makes it as unique as an uncompromising confession of love.

Trite rehash of 1960 themes Boring plot with all the edgy themes from the 60s. Karma, reincarnation, demonized energy corporation, evils of slavery, space alien contact, humanoid replicant liberation movement, apocalyptic destruction of humanity, persecution of homosexuals, race relations, warehousing of the elderly, transgender transmigration, transcendence of love with an Ingmar Bergman preachy dialogue in case we missed the point. What was the point?

A good thinking, and non-cynical person's movie. If you have any level of empathy for yourself, those in your life, and humanity past, future, and present than this movie will strike a cord with you at some point. In an age which increasingly values cynicism has practicality and spirituality as a worthless relic of our past, it was nice to see a movie like this. I can understand why it did not do well in theaters. It asked people to think in a time where thinking is a bit to troublesome for the world view we are increasingly and suicidally boxing ourselves into. A movie like this inspires you to stand still a moment and actually consider participating in humanity, not being a cog wheel of supposed 'civilization' as most would have it.
Could not believe this movie This movie was very disappointing, considering the many quality actors involved. It was very very confusing, hard to follow, and kept skipping back and forth. I did not think it was "brilliant" but very very confusing. Not at all entertaining, I am sorry that I wasted my money renting this movie.
Best film in history of cinema The greatest film made to date. Its a 3 hour epic. Not for stupid people, if you cant follow 5 interconnected story lines with multiple characters and put it together to see the big picture give up now. But if you are ready for a genre defying story with deep meaning and top notch acting you got it. It really makes you think about life and the soul. Its a perfect film, totally satisfying and captivating from start to finish.

One of the Greatest Films Ever To those of you who are too simple to understand the film, please don't give 1 star. This is an incredible film experience with so much depth and emotion. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to watch a movie that challenges them to thinkm. Roger Ebert was right when he ranted and raved about Cloud Atlas.

The Green Mile
Drama

Director Frank Darabont, who made an acclaimed feature film debut with The Shawshank Redemption (1994), based on a Stephen King novel set in a prison, returns for a second feature, based on King's 1996 serialized novel set in a prison. In 1935, inmates at the Cold Mountain Correctional Facility call Death Row "The Green Mile" because of the dark green linoleum that tiles the floor. Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) is the head guard on the Green Mile when a new inmate is brought into his custody: John Coffey (Michael Clarke Duncan), convicted of the sadistic murder of two young girls. Despite his size and the fearsome crimes for which he's serving time, Coffey seems to be a kind and well-mannered person who behaves more like an innocent child than a hardened criminal. Soon Edgecomb and two of his fellow guards, Howell (David Morse) and Stanton Barry Pepper), notice something odd about Coffey: he's able to perform what seem to be miracles of healing among his fellow inmates, leading them to wonder just what sort of person he could be, and if he could have committed the crimes with which he was charged. The Green Mile also stars James Cromwell as the warden; Michael Jeter, Sam Rockwell, and Graham Greene as inmates awaiting dates with the electric chair; and Harry Dean Stanton as a clever trustee.
