This is one of those rarities, an animated sequel that improves on the original.
Peter Travers
Co-directors Chris Renaud and Pierre Coffin, who do Minion voices expertly, never let up on the laughs. A fart joke in 3-D may not be three times as wacky, but the high spirits of Despicable Me 2 are irresistible fun.
Nancy Churnin
How do you tell a story about a bad guy who is no longer a bad guy? Despicable Me 2 embraces the dilemma and adds new ones.
Mary F. Pols
As a sequel [it] stands level with the first film (also directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud), and may have the edge on it.
Bruce Ingram
[A] remarkably tepid sequel to the surprise 2010 hit ...
Tirdad Derakhshani
If you're looking for quality prepackaged, predigested Hollywood family fun this summer, you could do a lot worse than Despicable Me 2.

Disappointed :( Loved the first one so much but this movie is horrible. Seems like they just added the characters from the first movie to a horrible animation. The story is horrible and they just threw in anything they could. Extremely Disappointed. The only positive note is that its funny, but the horribleness drowns it out. :(

Everything you want in a sequel for kids They took all the fun stiff from the first and gave us more. Rather than trying to make Gru bad so he could be transformed again, they embraced his new personality. The story is touching and completely appropriate for kids, and there's both wit and low brow humor to satisfy all sorts. I loved it.
Loved it Excellent family movie my kids and I just loved it both despicable me films. Its so cute and the minions are adorable the best part of the movie almost. I would love to see a minion cartoon made next. Like there is spongebob cartoon there has to be a minion cartoon made for TV next like the Disney channel or Nickelodeon just gave someone out there a good idea in production land lol

Better than the original!!! Saw this at the theater in 3D... really enjoyed it and enjoyed my son's reaction to the comedy. Love how the movie plays out for kids to understand and enjoy, with little moments of adult comedy that is clean but helps us parents keep interested! Story line is fun and made me stay interested and entertained!
Dears me to I love you so much I love that movie for the whole month people like if you like I don't worry always do together would be one more thing my spirit even my life must of people you like my life is ruined it would it would turn in a future in my movie to was in my heart you will be my love you will never forget me what you always do my life and my heart you would never prevents me you like for you always. You like my practical will always be always be my life boldest Boz you got i stupid

Am excellent follow up to the original We took our Son to see this movie and after the sneak previews were over, the production company screen loaded, and he fell asleep. Of course, he did not wake up and until the movie was at the credits. He enjoyed that greatly and will love to see this one just as much as the original. We laughed all the way through this movie. The minions really were the stars of this movie. I highly recommend this movies for children and for adults.
