Django Unchained is 165 minutes and nothing much happens beyond talk and the provision of corpses. The plot lurches around and the artful structure of Pulp Fiction has been abandoned.
Tom Huddleston
A film bursting with pleasures great and small ...
Lisa Kennedy
Django Unchained is Tarantino's most complete movie yet. It is also his most vital. His storytelling talents match the heft of the tale.
Anthony Lane
Django Unchained has mislaid its melancholy, and its bitter wit, and become a raucous romp. It is a tribute to the spaghetti Western, cooked al dente, then cooked a while more, and finally sauced to death.
Glenn Kenny
Genre-movie-mad writer-director Quentin Tarantino's foray into Western World is a pretty grave disappointment.
Joe Morgenstern
Wildly extravagant, ferociously violent, ludicrously lurid and outrageously entertaining, yet also, remarkably, very much about the pernicious lunacy of racism and, yes, slavery's singular horrors.

Excellent action and semi-historical movie. An absolutely wonderful movie. Has great portrayals of historical facts ie. field slave vs. house slave. Not at all biased towards white folks. How? Every black person in the movie was a slave...hmmm. Plus who wouldn't wanna see some racist, murdering, raping red necks (who existed as portrayed) get blown to pieces anyway?!
A "must watch" This movie is superb. Though it has very coarse language, it is necessary for the roles. People have been giving it bad reviews just because of the racism. The racism is what makes it realistic. Do you really think the slave holders weren't racist back then? Do you really think the slaves didn't want revenge? If you say no to one of these questions, then go back to school and learn your country's history.

Racism Man I tell you it is not easy to defeat racism when ITS ALWAYS IN YOUR FACE. I thought maybe this movie would be a great Tarantino, film but no it turned into another Foxx, racism lets keep it alive movie. I can't in good conscience support this movie. Especially now that Foxx, has gone on to make White House Down and also his Trayvon, stance. Really come on why not stop bringing up the past and help the Future. Revenge is all I took from this movie and I wish now that I had not purchased it.

Among 4 Very Good Tarantino Flicks Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Inglourius Basterds, and Django are the four movies from the writer-director that are well worth seeing again and again. If dark, violent humorous films aren't your taste, then none of these are your kind of movie. The rest will enjoy all of them. Django is a hilarious assault on bigotry.

G. O. A. T. I can't tell you how great this movie is....! Loved loved it... Great realistic storyline, great actors, great love stories, great action! The use of the N word was appropriate for the times and so was the racism.... Come on people did you honestly think slavery was a nice period in our history....? 10stars!
Best Tarantino since Pulp Fiction People say this movie is racist and you know what? They're right. Think a little more about that, the movie is set in 1858 Pre-Civil War America, a year slavery did exist where slaves were indeed put to labor and severely punished or worse. The movie presented the ugly truth about our nation's mistakes and created a masterpiece.

Simply Amazing! Anyone that has a problem with this movie, has a problem with the sad, and appalling facts of this portion of American history. To say a white person has no business making this movie is as racist as the period it's set in. If you think this movie is a comedy, you're an idiot! Easily one of the top 10 movies of all time!

The D is silent, but the audience still wants it. Fun film with awesome performances. Tarantino films are not necessarily known for some deep grappling with the plot, they are known for the constant pay-off, great action, delicious dialogue and equally tasty musical score. Watching a Tarantino film is like what I imagine being ravaged by a very high class call girl is like; An amazing time sans any deep personal commitment. You will go on with your life, but you will find yourself reminiscing about that one night in 'CandyLand'.
My favorite film of 2012 Django unchained is a entertaining and epic masterpiece. Thank you mr.tarentino for your best film you've done since pulp fiction, kill bill Vol.2,resivior dogs.Christoph waltz and Leonardo DiCaprio give great performances and sam Jackson is great as ever and jamie foxx is perfect as Django.unlike other overrated oscar films of 2013 or 2012 like argo,Lincoln, life of pi thus deserved to win best picture

Awesome This film is so good, I put off seeing it for a while because it just didn't appeal to me. I was so wrong. For the people saying that this film is racist, then grow up.This movie is set back in the slavery days, of course it's gonna be racist. This isn't the first film to use racial slurs, nor should it get bashed just because of that.

Filthy and evil Filthy evil people enjoy filthy wicked things. Are black people offended by a movie directed by a white man where violence toward their ancestors and the N word is thrown around gratuitously?Apparently not if they get to see white people blown up n the end.Are white people offended n general? Apparently the same sadistic thirst for violence and evil that was n Calvin, courses n their veins as well.Black people laugh with delight n the end. White people do too.And Satan tap dances with all of them.

*SPEECHLESSLY EXCELLENT. SUPERB!* I am very picky as some of you may or may not know & I do happen to know that I doo have vewwy good taste soo... ;D you're in a good reviewer's hands here;) Django.Blew.Me.Away.Completely. - & every1 else I know that's watched it;) It's just right on the money, perfectly legitimate history sprinkled w a rich, white, good man who is a bounty hunter & then takes Django under his wing as his accomplice. The cast... each & every1 of them were BORN to play their parts in Django it is just a Spectacular MUST-SEE!
