The film's quartet of post-slackers are captured as they feel their way around the edges of what they want (and are afraid to ask for) with painful accuracy.
Joe Williams
Here's a toast to the cast and crew: "Drinking Buddies" is a three-dimensional movie that doesn't require beer goggles.
Ty Burr
[Swanberg] points the movie in directions that defy our expectations, exploring the characters' immaturity and the entropy of human interaction.
Liam Lacey
Not much happens in Drinking Buddies, which, frankly, is refreshing.
Moira MacDonald
"Drinking Buddies" sneaks up on you; you think it's going in one direction, and suddenly it goes somewhere much more interesting.
Bill Goodykoontz
Swanberg doesn't exactly reinvent the romantic-comedy formula, but he explores it in unexpected ways, with a terrific cast making the relationships all the more genuine and enjoyable.

Under-appreciated indie comedy This funny movie is an unsung/under-appreciated indie hero. Set in a Chicago brewery, it's a simple tale of two beer-lovers (played by Olivia Wilde and Jake Johnson) who spend most of their days flirting, even though they both have significant others. It's a sweet story and also a really simple one – so simple it didn’t even have a real script, director Joe Swanberg just let his actors improvise.
Grow up low score-ers! It looks like one of those "sooo stoopid it's funny" type of movies! And I don't think anyone should be, being mean in the ratings like you are!... Because if you woulda watched the preview... Aka trailer... You woulda realized it was that type of movie!! And on top of that... The reason its sooo much is because it hasn't even gotten to the theatres yet!! So its like your paying theatre prices!

Don't expect the expected I enjoyed the movie and the characters although it was maybe a bit slow overall. Don't come in expecting a Hugh Grant style romantic comedy because even though it has some big names it is not at all a typical Hollywood film. The movie is like a collection of very "real" moments with normal people. It's definitely not for everyone and I probably wouldn't say its a great movie but I'd watch it again.

A mumblecore classic Excellent, mostly improvised acting, with great actors, mostly from the new generation, that all share fantastic chemistry with each other, especially the two leads (Wilde and Johnson). Best of all, the plot is not a Hollywood cliche and does what so many movies won't or are too afraid to do.

In this solitary backdrop, the two bicker and joke with each other as they reflect on their relationships with women, resulting in a clumsy fall head first into an unlikely friendship.

He feels powerless to change any of these things. The arrival of a new co-worker, James, serves to upset the balance. The Bling Ring
From Oscar award winning writer and director Sofia Coppola, THE BLING RING tells the story of a group of teenagers obsessed with fashion and celebrity that burglarize celebrities' homes in Los Angeles. Tracking their targets' whereabouts online, they break-in and steal their designer clothes and possessions. Reflecting on the naiveté of youth and the mistakes we all make when young, amplified by today's culture of celebrity and luxury brand obsession, we see through the members of the Bling Ring temptations that almost any teenager would feel. What starts out as teenage fun spins out of control and leaves us with a sobering view of our culture today. THE BLING RING stars Emma Watson alongside incredible new talent Israel Broussard, Katie Chang, Claire Julien, and Taissa Farmiga. The film also features Leslie Mann, Gavin Rossdale, and real-life Bling Ring victim, Paris Hilton. It is based on the Vanity Fair article The Suspects Wore Louboutins by Nancy Jo Sales.

"Frontera" shows that while a border might divide the two countries, it can't divide human decency.

The Angels' Share
Winner of the 2012 Cannes Film Festival Jury Prize, "The Angels' Share" is a comic fable about wasted talent and what happens when we are given a chance in life. It would be hard to see Robbie as a man worthy of redemption. He's constantly watching out for a gang of thugs looking to settle a family grudge, his girlfriend is giving birth to a baby while her father offers him money to leave Glasgow, and he's serving 300 hours of community service. But when Robbie meets Harry, the gruff but benevolent man in charge of his sentence, he finds a hidden talent for Scotch whiskey -- and a new chance at life. For distillers the angels' share is the whiskey lost to evaporation each year, and that little fact makes a rare cask of whiskey the perfect target for a heist. A hilarious story about second chances, THE ANGELS' SHARE is tender crowd-pleaser from legendary filmmaker Ken Loach ("The Wind that Shakes the Barley", "Kes") and screenwriter Paul Laverty.
