Mo Rocca's faux-disingenuous tone and nonstop jocularity dominate the docu to quickly grating effect.
David DeWitt
"Electoral Dysfunction" pulls off an admirable trick: It's pleasant. It treats Democrats and Republicans respectfully, and its humor, with the comic Mo Rocca as guide, is closer to Garrison Keillor than to Michael Moore.
John DeFore
A timely look at an important issue that's getting more hotly contested every month.
Nick Schager
Just a voting-for-dummies primer.

Moronic and absolutely incorrect When I first heard the black lady say we live in a democracy I thought maybe the author will correct her.....seconds later he says it.....the United States of America isn't, never has been, a democracy. We are a republic. See kids this is why a government education is worth about the amount of a heaping pile of dog poo.

Liberal bias is real. Actually biases in the media are commonplace, and 90% of what the major news outlet cover has a liberal slant (excluding fox, of course). So yes, the words nonpartisan are alarming when you have worked for three historically liberal programs.

Skeptical Just downloaded....haven't seen it yet. Just wanted to give it five stars to cancel out the guy who also hasn't seen it but gave it one star so he could whine about the "biased liberal media"
Skeptical Just downloaded... I haven't seen this yet, but I am skeptical of the word "nonpartisan" used to describe someone who works or worked for CBS, The Daily Show and NPR.

No No: A Dockumentary
NO NO: A DOCKUMENTARY tells the story of Dock Ellis who, on June 12, 1970, pitched a no-hitter for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 137 years of organized professional baseball, it’s the only no-hitter tossed while the pitcher was on LSD. Dock was often embroiled in controversy on and off the field. While professional baseball hadn’t fully embraced racial equality, he was an outspoken leader who lived the expression ‘Black is Beautiful!’ His fearlessness enabled him to become one of the most intimidating pitchers of the 70’s and a trailblazer for a new wave of civil rights. After retiring, Dock became as outspoken about his career-spanning substance abuse issues as he had been about intolerance. He spent decades utilizing his brash approach as a counselor, helping other addicts in their recoveries. Through intimate stories and a trove of archival footage, NO NO: A DOCKUMENTARY brings Dock’s vibrant life to light, burnishing the legend and revealing the man behind it.

It Might Get Loud
Rarely can a film penetrate the glamorous surface of rock legends. It Might Get Loud tells the personal stories, in their own words, of three generations of electric guitar virtuosos -- The Edge (U2), Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), and Jack White (The White Stripes). It reveals how each developed his unique sound and style of playing favorite instruments, guitars both found and invented. Concentrating on the artist's musical rebellion, traveling with him to influential locations, provoking rare discussion as to how and why he writes and plays, this film lets you witness intimate moments and hear new music from each artist. The movie revolves around a day when Jimmy Page, Jack White, and The Edge first met and sat down together to share their stories, teach and play. 2009 Steel Curtain Pictures, LLC. An Inconvenient Truth
Director Davis Guggenheim eloquently weaves the science of global warming with Al Gore's personal history and lifelong commitment to reversing the effects of global climate change in the most talked-about documentary at Sundance. An audience and critical favorite, An Inconvenient Truth makes the compelling case that global warming is real, man-made, and its effects will be cataclysmic if we don't act now. Gore presents a wide array of facts and information in a thoughtful and compelling way: often humorous, frequently emotional, always fascinating. In the end, An Inconvenient Truth accomplishes what all great films should: it leaves the viewer shaken, involved and inspired.
