BINGO!!! True to the writings of the great Orson Scott Card this movie delves into ethics and morals that come with the choices we make when faced with confrontations both personal and societal. As a BIG O.S. Card fan I was pleased with this movie's faith to both his ideals and characters. Great effects and acting. A must see. You don't often see the effects of victory at any price on the conscience and the soul.

Much more than a story This has more of an anti bullying backdrop which carries over to the main plot. The actor portraying Ender Wiggin does an amazing job of being both believable and likeable. Great adaptation although certainly has its "film differences" from the book.

A valiant attempt. Make no mistake about it, Enders Game is visually gorgeous and considerably faithful to the book. Where they miss is in their telling of the story. Everything feels rushed and little is fleshed out. The film is beautiful but the telling of this classic contemporary SciFi novel founders in the depths of it's execution.

Don't understand why it was panned Originally, I planned on watching the movie in the theatres but didn't because of bad reviews from close friends. But I decided to redbox it. Saw the movie last week and I want to add it to my personal collection. It has some thought provoking topics. It moves slower than most movies of its genre but that is not bad.

Good, but falls short of the book The acting and VFX were great, as well as the way in which throy brought story elements to life. However, it being based on a book, it has huge gaps that leave many of the most intriguing and cerebral elements of the story out. Good entertainment value, fair cinema, poor representation of an incredible book (and series).

ok i guess. but it really deviated from the book. like it didn't even get bean right the whole thing with him was ruined, both fight scenes where ruined ( understandable cause kids killing kids is a lil touchy of a subject) and the school system and the command school system where off. but I know they cut it all for the sake of money and time. at least the got the atmosphere right ( other then on earth at the school and the fact that enders a blonde) oh well. like so many cases....read. the. book.

Freeze tag! The whole movie had nothing to do with the ending. Here kids, play freeze tag for months on end to learn to kill the zerg. The plot is so silly and the acting terrible. The only reason this movie has high ratings is due to those who loved the book as kids. Give me back that 90 min please. Harrison ford should be ashamed!

What's wrong with people? ❇My mom took me to see this movie last year, and I wanted to read the book after that. I read it within 5 days, and compared the book to the movie. It followed the book amazingly! What's with people saying the movie was awful? I loved it and would kill to see it again. Definement buying it when I get enough money. Guys reading the comments trying to decide whether to buy it? I recommend that if you like the book, you'll like the movie. Go ahead! Is worth it.❇

Not worth it This movie left out a lot of very important scenes and a lot of plot holes in the movie. It's an Ok movie. But they could have done a better job executing and explaining the situation. The movie, to me, felt like they really rushed it. It's not worth the amount that's being asked and what you get. Read the book first.

What did I just watch? Fair warning; I love the Ender's game world. I read the book at least once a year. I accept that books and movies have to tell stories in different ways. That being said if it had been a simple different view of the same events or a re-edit that didn't sit well with me I could accept that. This monstrosity though is well beyond just simple streamlining or editing. Ender's character is almost completely unrecognizable from his book counterpart. The motivations of the characters are random and disjointed. Please do yourself a favor and don't watch this film if you have any positive feelings for the book.

I wanted to like it ...but it was so shallow in character development. Wasnt bad, but it ended in a way that was dissappointing. Didnt read the book, but its my understanding that they had to boil down the story so much that there lacked character development. The cinematography was great and you wanted to root for the kid. But again, the end was terrible.

Excellent Finally a half-decent movie I didn't regret purchasing. It's been a while since I could say that! For those whining about the movie not being a true adaptation of the book, get over it. It's a movie, and a good one. I'm sure the books have more depth and are superior, but they aren't movies. As a movie, it couldn't have been better.

It's an Ok rental. I'll start by saying I read the book, but completely dropped all expectations of it being exactly like the it. Judging the movie as a stand alone project, it just felt rushed, confusing, and as if they tried to squeeze in the action between those tiny bits of story time. The visuals were amazing, I love space fights and anything sci-fi so I gave it a shot, but it still fell short of my expectations.

Excellent adaptation! This movie did an excellent job keeping true to the story of the book, and did specific changes that were necessary to keep it from being long and drawn out. While the book has mature adult only themes, this movie is much more family and child appropriate. The book does make more sense than the movie. Even people who have not read the book describe the movie and tell me exactly what the theme of the book is. Important note: they did not set this movie up for politically themed sequels like the book.

Misses all the most important elements of the story A lot of the decisions they made about this movie detracted from its overall quality, namely to "age" the characters so that the violence and situations would be more palatable on screen. Unfortunately, by doing that, they made it much harder to sympathize with the characters. Ender, in the book, is one of the youngest and smallest kids in Battle School (second to Bean). In the movie, he is of average size, and any sense you might have of his physical vulnerability is lost. Aside from this, connections between characters are very one-dimensional, and there is far less nuance here than I would have liked. In the end, not just a bad adaptation of an excellent book, but also just a poor movie in general.
