Mesmerizing Incredible directing and a impeccable script shows us what true horror re-imaginings should be like. Literally 100% of the film is nail-bitingly shocking and all practical effects. Fede Alvarez is a pure artist.

Can't get enough!!! I love this reboot from begining to end. It scary, bloody and just plain good fun. What would you do, if this were to happen to you. Not for the weak. At all.enjoy. can't wait for the unrated cut..

Best remake ever done. I as a horror movie fanatic and having seen all the originals this movie kinda brings you back to when horror movies were at their prime! I'm tired of all these people saying it sucked. What are you so desensitize and closed minded nothing impresses you. Keep watching scarface losers!

Best remake of a horror movie ever! I was 10 and randomly bought a DVD of Evil Dead without knowing anything about it. I became addicted and the next day bought the next 2. Evil Dead was a staple in my childhood and this remake did not disappoint. If you love horror movies and aren't phased by them I wouldn't call this scary or suspenseful but the visuals and story and gore and coolness and nostalgia of the original are just awesome! Recommend a buy or at least rent

Awesome! I love movies that can get me to jump. This one mastered the art. The story is what you would expect for this kind of film, but it was shot beautifully, and I found myself, heart pounding, waiting for each moment to arrive. Great movie, and I'm glad I finally saw it.

Really Good Movie! I haven't seen the original movie, in order to base this movie off of that. But I can say, that this movie is amazing and will keep you shaking until the very end. The one complaint I had with this movie is that The actors and actresses, barely screamed (sometimes) when they were severally injured, it didn't make for a believable experience. Other than that, this movie is really good.

Good horror film. I like Fede Averez direction. Evil Dead was very eerie from beginning to end. Jane Levy should also get a lot of credit as well. She delivered a good performance. I really cared about her character. It was very graphic & tough to watch at time because of the blood shed, and brutality. But it was pretty darn good. Not a masterpiece like the film critics said, but still really good. I would give Evil Dead an 8/10

Poor at best I would consider the original to be like the Mona Lisa....perfect with all of its own inherent flaws. The remake falls short of being art as it is a confused, poorly planned mess, yet obviously somewhat well funded. Torture. Sweet relief finally comes when they end the movie. I had such high hopes.

The american Monster Hunter The American pre-occupation with monster hunting continues in this awesome remake of a classic horror movie. Makes me think that the collective conciseness is worried about an insidious monster with all the high quality demon possession, and zombie movies that are different from the physical monsters of the 1980s and 90s like Buffy the vampire slayer, interview with a vampire, Terminator 2, vanhelsing, etc... that preluded 911 and the iraq and afghanistan wars. This is an excellent movie created on an already saturated blend of sci-fi horror genre that has taken over the mature American movie industry. The fact that popular opinion enjoys a movie where nearly every character sacrifices an appendage to prevent the spread of evil may hint to the general unconscious notion that american freedoms have been or will be comprise in the near future, but the free and fearless will survive. I don't know, its just all speculation, but marks a definite departure from the sole blood, guts and gore movies of the past decades.
shakin' in my little red rain boots i get scared during movies, but not usually very much. but....i don't know, this version of the old classic was just plain, straight up scary. suspenseful from start to finish. gory, twisted, freaky, brutal. Imagine being in that situation....dear god, it's horrible. bloody, horrific and i really enjoyed it. only one flaw for me was the contacts. i don't know if it was a bit of a throwback to the old cartoonesque styling but, i think those could have been better, but all around still really, really awesome. (honestly i almost turned it off to watch in the safety of the day time lol)

Some people are crackheads I saw this film for the first time in theaters and it was awesome and saw it again when it came out by far the best remake film ever done in such a long time. I am a horror movie enthusiast and every year crap comes out but this movie is very gory very intense and yeah the ending is different but I loved it.. the females rocked in this film... so everyone else who didn't like it are crackheads who enjoy boring sappy love stories! 5 Stars

It was a good movie. I didn't like how they made it look like that Jock guy was Bruce's character. Then he dies and his sister gets the chainsaw hand? Dumb. I'm still glad I bought it. Bruce needs the cash. Don't expect me to watch the Evil Dead 2 remake if the main character is that annoying girl. The ending was STUPID.
F#?!ing Sucks And Blows Simultaneously If "LESS THAN ONE STAR" were a possible rating I sincerely feel that this horrendously pathetic excuse of a remake of an American horror classic deserves at least a -5 stars. I am truly shocked that the original film's creator Sam Raimi allowed a cinematic abortion such as this one to carry the same name as the original so undeservingly. I actually spent the extra three bucks on an HD copy of the remake because I am such a longtime fan of the original films. I not only regret purchasing the more expensive c

Well done re-make. ..Scary as hell If its one thing thats hard to do. It's remake the classics. Evil Dead succeeded where other failed. WHY? It gave life and death and mayhem to an already chilling and fun franchise. Evil Dead is awesome in its set up and knockdown. You have to see it and yes Im aware we all love Ash..but thats what makes this movie great. They didnt remake Ash they kept him treasured where he belongs as only Bruce Campbell can.

A cash-in that holds up well on its own While undoubtedly a strategic money maker due to sharing the same name as a timeless horror classic, this big budget cringe-fest pays homage to the original with brutal practical effects, and a surprisingly dazzling performance by Jane Levy, as well as a voice cameo by original star, Ellen Sandweiss. Is it as good as the original? That's apples and oranges, watch it for a blood-soaked, fun filled experience that holds up well on its own merit!

Frostbite is setting in. And on the ground below them, a pack of hungry wolves have gathered to wait. Kevin Zegers (DAWN OF THE DEAD, WRONG TURN), Shawn Ashmore (X-MEN, THE RUINS), and Emma Bell star in the relentlessly chilling thriller from writer/director Adam Green (HATCHET) that Harry Knowles of Ain't It Cool News hails as "a vicious, scary and horrifying experience...FROZEN is a howling good time!"

Red House
Horror

When Shelby Gordon (Kate French) inherits a house from her paternal grandfather Isaiah Hill (Walter Olszewski) in the remote woods of Copperhead County, she asks her friends Carissa (Yvette Yates) and Lindsey (Cristen Coppen) to go with her to check it out. The girls, joined by Chelsea (Kat Sheridan) and her boyfriend Travis (Lawrence Adimora), set out for a weekend in the country. Once they arrive, they discover that due to heavy rainfall the road to the house is closed and they must hike in the back way. Carissa is used to being pampered by her wealthy boyfriend and doesn't enjoy the trek through the woods nor is she happy about the revolting condition the Red House is in when they arrive. Hikers in the area have broken in and used the house as a stopover. They find it filled with trash and empty beer cans. Without telling the group, Carissa hikes back to the car the next morning. Only she never makes it. Assuming Carissa has gone into town to look for a motel, the others go about cleaning the house. While looking through some boxes, Shelby discovers that her father had a brother Joshua (John Otrin) who was institutionalized when he was young. When her friends start to disappear, Shelby suspects that Joshua is still alive and hiding in the attic of the Red House. The girls are also being threatened by a couple of local pot growers, Pink (Gregory Avellone) and his son Will (Ed Ackerman). Is Joshua killing her friends or is it someone else? With the help of Cole Callahan (Brendan Wayne,) the handsome deputy sheriff of Copperhead County, she unravels the mystery. The Red House is not a gore fest but a suspense thriller that will keep you guessing.
